Does the case latch?

I just received my palette...and I love it, but the compact/case doesn't seem to "click shut" or "latch" Is it supposed to, or is that part of the design?

My pallet securely closes. It don't "click", but it latches closed.

It's about 9.5 inches by 6.75 inches. The thickness is amost .5 inch.

Why is there an outline/label on seven of the shadows?

I just received the Shades of Nature Eye Shadow Palette. On the back of the box the palette comes in there is a diagram of where the shadows are, their color, and number. But around seven of the shadows is a black outline. Also, inside the palette, under the same seven shadows, there is their shade/color number but not under the rest of the shadows. Just wondering why the outline/label on those and not the others? Does it have a reason?

As far as I can tell, those shadows are highlighted because they are identical to actual Pantone colors, hence the numbers included with each highlighted color, as Pantone colors can be identified by numbers. I could be wrong, but since nobody else has replied, thought I would share my theory.

Pantone is known for standardized color palettes that make it possible to exactly match, or describe, a specific color to someone else. They also provide a "forecast" of colors for home interiors, fashion, etc. In other words, based on emerging popularity, these are the new colors hitting retail shelves and dress racks. Based on the description provided by Sephora the highlighted colors in the packaging are seven colors Pantone "forecast" as the "it"colors of this summer. Lucky you, this palette is GORGEOUS!

I was wondering the same thing when I saw it. I figured it was only $50, if I didn't like it I could give it to someone ;) butttt it is pretty amazing the colors are pretty much all matte, but if you use a good primer (I use Lorac) they stay ALL day without creasing. Oh and they are blendable! I do makeup at Macy's and I wish we had a palette like this there I would be selling tooooons!!!

How are people receiving this for free?

I'm a VIB, and have been for a while now. When reading the reviews for this pallete, particularly the very first few reviews, I noticed multiple people saying Sephora sent them this for free as a surprise in the mail. I haven't received anything like this for free as part of the VIB program ever, and when I called the VIB hotline just now to ask, the representative had never heard of Sephora giving away this pallete. So my question is, how are people getting this for free from Sephora? Is that a different program from the VIB one?

Back in the beginning of August, Allure magazine was doing a "Free Stuff" giveaway. The Pantone palette was one of the items you could win. Perhaps that was how some people got them for free. I don't know anything about VIB's getting them for free though.
