The color spectrum for dark skinned women - **Online** - seems very good. If you are cappuccino, you would be like me, 66 or 68. I say that because 66 and 70 are sold at my local Sephora and I need to mix them to make the right shade. I have not actually seen the 68 or the 72. It does seem that the company has been inclusive of women with deeper complexions. The 66 is a bit golden/neutral and the 70 is very reddish (but it's great for contouring). I have used my samples for a couple of days and love the texture. It looks amazing, all day long.

Hi, the color specialist at the Sephora I visited is also a woman of color. She happened to mention that she wanted to use this product herself, but was unable to do so because none of the shades were a match for her. She said that the company was really interested in getting feedback so she was going to let them know. Hopefully they listen to all of you and make darker shades.

Samples should be available in the foundations they have in stock or on hand. I was able to get samples of the colors I needed.

I have extremely bad skin with lots of pimples. One pump of this foundation perfects my entire face. This is the only foundation I've used that actually covers and conceals all of my acne problems.

Rimmel Stay Matte is a nice less expensive alternative and my go-to powder with this particular foundation. I also like the MUFE powder, but I actually like the Rimmel better, go figure!

i personally use makeup forever hd high definition powder. it is white in the jar, but is transparent when it sets on your skin. it's a great product, really helps keep the foundation set.

I use 127 in the MUFE foundation and I'm a 54 in the lockit foundation. Swatches next to each other, they are the exact same color.

I think 53 or 54 will be good. 52 will be too light and pink.

I'm a 127 in the HD foundation, as well! I use Medium 52. I know some 127ers who use Medium 54, so either one should work for the most part.

Question
What type of finish is this?
Is it super matte, or demi matte/satin? Because I prefer more of a demi matte. I have oily skin in my tzone but I feel extremely matte foundations look sort of cakey and dry on me even with just a thin layer after a few hours.

I definitely agree with you about how super full/matte finishes look cakey. This has more of a demi matte finish but please read my review before purchasing for more details about the product :)

Best of beauty luck,
Kira.

I would say its semi- matte. I also add a couple of luster drops by Josie Maran or Make Up For Ever for a slight dewy finish.

I have sensitive skin and have no problems with this foundation. It never causes breakout for me either. It will definitely cover acne. I don't need to use a separate concealer when I use this. Sometimes I use this as a concealer for certain areas when I am using my drugstore foundation (I like to save this foundation for special occasions since it is always sold out).

This product is oil free and would work great for sensitive/acne prone skin types. I would recommend getting color matched at your local Sephora store before you purchase though. This foundation is highly pigmented and the shades can vary quite drastically.

Try the next shade up Light 46, Light 44 is a beige undertone which might make you look a bit washed out (atleast I think it did on me). The Light 46 is a pink undertone and matched my skin perfectly!

I use a flat top buffing brush to apply it. I didn't have much luck using a Beauty Blender, which is normally how I prefer to apply foundation.

I ordered the Light 18 in Kat's concealer, and that shade was great. So, I ordered the Light 44 in the foundation, since the description of the shade was the same as the description for the concealer, but the foundation was way, way too light. So, be careful with that. As fair as I am, I would still have to order one of the medium shades in the foundation, and I am never a medium shade in anything else.

I've been using the Kat Von D concealer brush. I would not recamend this. It's too small and flat. I'd try a sponge or larger brush.

NEW SHADES
there are several new shades, such as L45, L49, M53, etc. But there are no descriptions, does anyone know what they are? (undertones etc.) or how they compare to the original shades?

Well, Light 49 is a perfect match to me and it has a Beige/Peach tone to it. My undertone is light to medium and neutral leaning warm. Some of Kat's shades have a yellow or pink tone to them.Light 46 is very pink. Light 49 is not yellow or pink but a very noticeable peach.

M53 is my perfect match. I have yellow undertones. I was using 52 & 54 and mixing them. So glad 53 came out. I gave the 52 to my daughter, she's light with neutral undertones. I'm not sure about the other shades you listed. Hope this helps.

They range so dramatically so the best bet is to have a color consultation if you can. The store associate said I was a Light 42 but then when I started trying them on I ended up being a Medium 54!! The L's are more for light porcelain skin tones but again range from warm, neutral, yellow... definitely check out in person.
