Rimmel Stay Matte is a nice less expensive alternative and my go-to powder with this particular foundation. I also like the MUFE powder, but I actually like the Rimmel better, go figure!

i personally use makeup forever hd high definition powder. it is white in the jar, but is transparent when it sets on your skin. it's a great product, really helps keep the foundation set.

I have sensitive skin and have no problems with this foundation. It never causes breakout for me either. It will definitely cover acne. I don't need to use a separate concealer when I use this. Sometimes I use this as a concealer for certain areas when I am using my drugstore foundation (I like to save this foundation for special occasions since it is always sold out).

This product is oil free and would work great for sensitive/acne prone skin types. I would recommend getting color matched at your local Sephora store before you purchase though. This foundation is highly pigmented and the shades can vary quite drastically.

I've tried tons of high end powders and was settled on the MUFE powder, but I recently tried the cheap Rimmel Stay Matte powder and it works even better.

Would Light 42 work for me?

I originally bought this foundation in Light 44, since I kept reading that Light 42 is insanely light and that unless I'm Casper's cousin it will be too light. However, even though Light 44 is fairly close to my undertone (maybe just a bit too warm), it's just a bit too dark for me. In MAC terms, I would be about an N5-10ish. Should I give the 42 a try? I just don't want to waste my time (always have to order online because I don't have a nearby Sephora) on something that would be completely wrong for me. I love the coverage and finish of this foundation, so I'd really like to find a match. Thoughts?

Since you already have 44, why not get 42 and mix the two? They really should have a shade in between those two are they are quite different.

There's a big difference between those shades. 42 is very pasty looking with almost no color to it. I had samples of both and pretty much had the same issue. 44 is slightly too dark for me, but 42 is definitely too white. I wish there was a shade in the middle.

Hello there, Im very interested in buying the Kat Von D Lock It Foundation but Im not sure which of the deep shades would fit me best. I normally wear a cappuccino (True Match) cool or neutral depending on the season. I really want to try this foundation with the matching concealer. I wear Deep 70 and it matches me perfect, but I also live in Hawaii, so I pretty much stay my summer color year round. Hope the pic gives you a guideline.

The color spectrum for dark skinned women - **Online** - seems very good. If you are cappuccino, you would be like me, 66 or 68. I say that because 66 and 70 are sold at my local Sephora and I need to mix them to make the right shade. I have not actually seen the 68 or the 72. It does seem that the company has been inclusive of women with deeper complexions. The 66 is a bit golden/neutral and the 70 is very reddish (but it's great for contouring). I have used my samples for a couple of days and love the texture. It looks amazing, all day long.

Hi, the color specialist at the Sephora I visited is also a woman of color. She happened to mention that she wanted to use this product herself, but was unable to do so because none of the shades were a match for her. She said that the company was really interested in getting feedback so she was going to let them know. Hopefully they listen to all of you and make darker shades.

It lasts me about 2 months. I use it for full coverage and with a foundation brush. I use only a little concealer with it and very little powder. I wish it lasted me a year but I have scars from previous acne.

I would say at least a year. I use about a pea size amount which gives me a medium coverage and it will easily last a year, maybe more. I apply it once a day and sometimes twice.

A flat top foundation brush. I apply this with the Cover FX one available on Sephora.com and the finish is very airbrushed. I have also used by beauty blender sponge which works well with this product too, I just hate how much product my beauty blender absorbs and worry about wasting this foundation that way.

I really like to use a stapling brush or the BeautyBlender Sponge. Remember that if you use the brush use it in small circular motions and if you prefer the sponge use it damp.

Try the next shade up Light 46, Light 44 is a beige undertone which might make you look a bit washed out (atleast I think it did on me). The Light 46 is a pink undertone and matched my skin perfectly!
