Bumble and bumble Color Minded Shampoo

What it is:An ultra-mild, sulfate-free shampoo that protects color integrity, prevents color fading, and helps to eliminate color washout. What it is formulated to do:This invigorating shampoo helps prevent color fading and washout while keeping tones true. By locking color in and locking water out, you can keep hues as rich as the day of your service. Color Minded seals in shine and smooths the cuticle to make hair color glow, fights the horrid humidity, and adds healthy-looking luster and luminosity-just like a finishing coat. What it is formulated WITHOUT:- SulfatesWhat else you need to know: Formulated with a new, proprietary two-polymer technology that covalently binds to and cross-links over color-treated hair, it works to resurface the process-damaged cuticle and seal the hair to prevent color washout and fading. The color process opens the cuticle to deposit color into the hair shaft. If the cuticle is not sealed properly, water can enter and wash away new color as soon as the first shampoo (which is when the most color washout happens).

Questions & Answers for Bumble and bumble Color Minded Shampoo

Is this product made for red hair?
I have cherry red hair, and I am looking for something to help preserve my hair color. Besides only washing my hair once a week, I also need a shampoo that won't strip the color as well. How well does this hold up?

No shampoo will keep red from fading. Sadly. Your best bet is to keep some extra dye on hand and touch it up as needed.

I use this shampoo on my hair that I had dyed bright green/teal on the sides. I have also been only washing my hair once a week and when I do I use this shampoo and matching conditioner. I'm being 100% honest when I say my color has NOT faded at all. It still is as vibrant as the day it was dyed and that was a month ago. I would recommend trying it out on red hair. Red is tricky and tends to fade fast, but I would give it a try.

I seem to be the minority here, but I dyed my hair burgundy and this shampoo did nothing to protect that color. still washed out within 2 weeks.

I have predominately grey hair with a blue streak. Blue is a hard color to get hair to hold and it strips out easily. This is the only experience I have.

I wash my long hair every day and this shampoo has made a HUGE difference in keeping my color looking fresh bold and new. I have my hair colored in an auburn ambre look. I am very happy with this product and would say YES it's made for red. My hairdresser and I have talked about this product and what it has done for other red shades, she has only great things to say about it too. kept my color looking like the day I walked out of the salon for two months with minimal fading, and I wash every day. Once I did not use it for the two month period (root re growth) until I could see my hair dresser again, and my color faded so drastically that I now make sure I buy this shampoo when I run out.

This shampoo/conditioner is not restricted to any particular hair colors. It does very well at preserving hair colors and keeping the color from washing out. It also gives it a very healthy shine. I would definitely recommend it!

My hair is also red and I think it works great. It's the best product so far. I barley see the color wash out and I've had my hair dyed not even a month ago. I'd say give it a shot.

I tried everything that claimed to keep color from fading. this shampo is the only one I have found that actually does wha it claims. red, as you know, has its own fading challenges, but this is the best!

This is a great shampoo for color treated hair and will help your cherry red coloring stay longer. Since it is sulfate free, it is less drying and will keep your coloring strong and the hair cuticles sealed to prevent running.

Yes and no. This shampoo would be great for your everyday washes, but you'd want to supplement it with a violet shampoo to keep brassiness in check. Try Joico Color Endure Violet or search "violet shampoo" on Google. There are quite a few brands out there.

Does this shampoo cause breakage?
I've been using this shampoo and conditioner set for a week and i'm starting to notice breakage at the roots. I have very bleached and extremely fine hair so the idea of a sulfate-free shampoo enticed me but after using it im afraid it might be causing more damage to my already damaged hair than my previous shampoos with sulfates.

I've never noticed any breakage. Have you tried supplementing with a mask or leave-in conditioner? Sometimes it helps to give your hair a good soak.

No, I have not noticed this.

I would say that the best shampoo for you would be Bumble and Bumble's Mending - it's a little more expensive but 100% worth it in my opinion - quenching might also do the trick. When you have damaged & bleached hair a mask is always helpful - Ojon has a great restorative treatment called "Restorative Hair Treatment Plus" - it smells good too! But if you are wanting to stick with Bumble and Bumble - stick with the mending or quenching line. Also, if you have a Sephora near you, you can always get samples of these products beforehand to see if you like them or not.

To my knowledge, the Color Minded line does not have a special thickening shampoo.

i would think this is actually perfect for you. Reason being its sulfate free...sulfate actually makes your hair fall out in most cases...AND it strips your hair of its color if its color treated so i use all items sulfate free but this shampoo is among my favorite. the lather isn't as great as the shampoos with sulfate but its more natural and i use it daily.
