I'd say yes! I've been wearing Coco Mademoiselle for years, & I felt the same way about wanting something "darker." Its pretty light if you just do a spritz or two, so its not overpowering, but I feel a little more fierce when I wear it :) I don't know if the design of the bottle has anything to do with it, because it looks tougher next to all my other fou fou perfume bottles. But I love & would definitely recommend it if you want more (well, true to the name) femme fatale than fairy princess.

I hate pink sugar, but I love this fragrance, I would say if your looking for something similar to pink sugar try Philosophy's falling in love, or unconditional love, they have a similar cotton candy scent. This is more Vanilla like another poster stated.
I wouldn't call this similar to Pink Sugar, mostly because Pink Sugar smells like cotton candy to me - this is way more vanilla, way less sugar. It's a nice warm scent. If you like vanilla, though, you'll probably like this. The sandalwood adds a subtle spiciness. It IS a lot like Pink Sugar in that it's a nice gentle scent. It doesn't punch you in the face with its notes. It's office-friendly, family-friendly, and sexy enough to be evening-friendly as well.
For what it's worth, I love Pink Sugar (not really enamored by the darker variant, it smells too chemically to me) and I love Tainted Love.

It's very much like pink sugar, but less pink! So I think you will be on the right track with this one.
