Are these sheer? Opaque? Some of each?
The only polish application method I know for a true ombre' look is to layer overlapping coats of sheer polish in a graduated range of translucent shades. Are these polishes translucent, or are these for the so-called ombre' look that is so popular these days (painting each nail a different shade in the same color palette)?
Thanks in advance for your help!

on Ombre 5-Piece Nail Polish Sets
These polishes are quite opaque, intended to be used as one color per nail to make a progression across the hand. However, in my opinion the Walrus colors do not make a good transition.

They're not translucent - the colors range from a deep sapphire blue down to pure white.

Definitely more of a "paint each nail a different color" thing!
Looking at the product info I think they market it as a one color per nail item; I haven't tried the true ombre look with it yet but I do intend to try it.

Each bottle is a different color, shade. One is matte, one is shimmery! There are different versions of 'ombre' one like you said is to graduate the color per nail, this kit has you paint each nail a different color. Just a different take on Ombre! Its worth getting! The bottles are small, smaller than i expected however I used so little polish that the kit will last a LONG time!!

I bought the Walrus set and all the colors are opaque. The darkest color is a shimmer and the rest are creams.

These colors are opaque and actually do a great job of covering the nail with one coat. For the ombra look it is referring to having a different color on each nail, ranging from dark to light or vice versa. You would not be using all the colors on one nail. the effect of having a different color on each nail is pretty cool. I hope that helps!
