I use a NARS sharpener that was made for a larger pencil. It even has a little insert you can take out to make the hole bigger. Both brands seem to be made of the same product. Works great.

You have to sharpen it. It is not a roll up eye shadow. Use a larger hole sharpener.

The MUFE people say that a large eye pencil sharpener will work. That's what I've used and it doesn't seem to work as well as with other eyeliners, but it seems to be the only way. They need to make one especially for this product. And like you, I was confused by the hard plastic it's encased in. Usually the plastic is softer if it's meant to be sharpened.

Yes you can sharpen the pencil by using the SEPHORA Colorful Dual Antibacterial Sharpener or any other sharpener for big pencil.

You can use the sharpener from Anastasia, or the one you can get from the Estee Lauder counter, both work on the larger opening. I have not tried any other sharpeners (have a drugstore brand, and it does not fit that one).

Yes, you can absolutely use it on the inner eyelid, which is what you mean by "waterline," I think. I heard a MUFE rep recommend that on a TV presentation. I have to keep going over the line to get much color there, but it looks really good and stays quite a while (not as long as it does on your skin though). And it didn't irritate my eyes at all when I did it.

I have been using it on my waterline and it works well. I spoke to a MUFE rep today and she says it can be used on the waterline.

Buy a makeup pencil sharpener that accommodates jumbo pencils. I bought one by Nars shown here: http://www.sephora.com/product/productDetail.jsp?keyword=NARS%20Pencil%20Sharpener%20P84818&skuId=804070&productId=P84818&_requestid=145467

I have found that the dual sharpener from Anastasia works well with this pencil, also the one you can get from the Estee Lauder counter ($8) (dual) works as well. The drugstore dual sharpeners don't have the right size opening to fit this pencil. I have three sharpeners, and the two I mentioned are the ones that fit, I'm sure others probably do, but just wanted to speak of what I have that works.

Question
defective product
I bought this product and was very pleased with it until I needed to extend it. I could turn the bottom of the pencil but the eye shadow would not come up. I have e-mailed you previously regarding this problem without a response. Please respond this time. I hardly got to use the eye shadow.

I had the same problem and couldn't figure out how on earth to sharpen it. The plastic was clearly not the kind you can sharpen. So I finally tried sharpening it anyway, because the product itself is great. It did let me use a little more product but the plastic didn't sharpen smoothly. I think they must have meant to use the kind of plastic that can be sharpened, and I hope they figure it out because it is a really super shadow and liner. Looks beautiful and lasts forever. I think the reason why you haven't gotten an answer is because there IS no answer. It just doesn't work.

Don't even try. It is too thick and waxy. If you like the color, just use a brush to apply, until you can't use the product anymore.

I asked the store associate for advice on a sharpener and she gave me the Sephora brand double sided sharpener which was $6. The trick is to be VERY gentle with it - you're not aiming for a true point for this product, just to get some more of it exposed. Just twist it a tiny bit to get some more and leave it. I usually go at least a week without sharpening and with the one I use, I haven't had any trouble.

I must admit the plastic threw me for a loop when I first got this! But it's a soft plastic and actually sharpens really easily. I've attached a photo for you of the size of sharpener you need. You need to find a make-up sharpener that has the larger hole. Just run it through like a regular pencil and you are good! :) Hope this helps!

Drugstore sharpeners don't fit these pencils. Two that I have that work are the ones from Anastasia and Estee Lauder. Both are dual opening sharpeners. The Estee Lauder one was $8 but I don't remember the price of the Anastasia sharpener.

Is there a way to "turn up more" product or sharpen it because it seems like such a small amount. Haven't figured it out yet!
There is such a small amount of the product, I'm assuming there is a way to "turn up more," that I just haven't figured out yet. (I'm sure hoping this is the case for the price or I won't be buying it again)

You don't extend it, you need to sharpen it. If you don't have a good sharpener, I suggest buying Sephora's. I used an older on and it "ate" the plastic. The Sephora one easily sharpened it.
