Question
Ok for someone with fair skin?
I have fair to very fair skin, blue eyes, and light to medium brown hair. Does this primer have a tint that would make it too dark for my skin tone? Thanks!

I have very fair/pale skin with red undertones. This is not too dark for my skin. It's actually a neutral "color."

I have very fair skin.... I notice a slight tinge to the primer but it applies so lightly that there is no darkening or color added to the skin. This primer is really amazing, the best ive tried.

There is no tint to this primer. Works well for my fair skin. Just makes it a little luminescent and work well under my tinted moisturizer.

Absolutely works with fair skin. I have very fair skin, dark hair, green eyes, and it works great. It does not change the appearance of my foundation except to keep it on longer, and makes my face smoother and a little more glowy. I love it.

My skin is fair and I love this! It goes on more like a moisturizer than you'd think since you don't see it once it's on.. (you should still use a moisturizer underneath)

is this product "silicone-y" like reguar clean slate primer?
I've tried the regular clean slate primer and I hate hate HATE silicone primers. I love Tarte though. Just looking for a nice light primer.

Silica IS silicone. I don't understand how this can be touted as silicone free. I bought this trusting the silicone free label, only to break out terribly within a day.

Since Tarte is all natural, I do not consider this primer to be like other primers giving a false finish. Tarte provides great coverage and also prmotes natural flawless skin, I love this primer and do not face the silicone texture, or even an oily/dry slate, but a flawless finish.

I think this goes on so light and evenly, it's really great. I use just a large pea-sized amount for my face and whole neck.

I don't know what you mean by silicone though, so I can't compare it to those products.

this is way different than the old stuff ... they have two now. the brightening primer is more like a lotion - not the silicony stuff (i hate that too). the second kind they have is the poreless version, which is like their older silicone style primer. give the brightening one a try. light, smells great, and all natural!

Tarte has three 12 hour primers. I have used this, Flawless primer, and the Poreless primer. I prefer the Flawless primer, makes my skin look amazing and give a really nice finish. I found the Poreless primer to be very oily, shiny and my tinted moisturizer would basically just slide off my face when the Poreless primer was applied. I use Flawless all over my face without any issues.

Your oil skin will be perfectly fine under this primer, treat your skin and wash it as normal, this primer will easily fit into your makeup routine, which is why I love it so much! I doubt you will break out or have any problems with this primer its simply perfect! This primer and the other both act as primer however this primer gives a glow while the other covers large pores, i have used both and found flawless to be my favorite, providing me with a nice healthy glow!

Hi, I've used the original Clean Slate for at least 2 yrs now. They've just repackaged it in the "new" Clean Slate- poreless primer. FYI, like you, I have combo-acne prone skin. I've had no irritation or breakouts with the Tarte primers. I've tried many primers and Tarte is my favorite one because it hasn't broken me out and it has lasted me all day long. Including in humid, summer days in LA and Hawaii. I've used it with Smooth Operator, Laura Mercier's tinted foundation, Tarte's Amazonian Clay 12-hr foundation and Laura Mercier's Mineral Foundation. Regardless of what foundation I used it stayed on and looked great. I highly recommend it. If you can -go to your nearest Sephora and request them to create samples for you of various brand's primers and test each one out at home before committing to buying a full-size. Doing that will save you so much hassle and help you really see what works for your skin.

Question
Primer for larger pores?
I am using the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation and love it. I also use the brush recommended for this foundation. I am still having issues with the foundation settling in to my pores and wish to use a primer that will make my pores look smaller! I have tried the new BB Primer but for some reason, it broke my face out and it shouldn't. Will this primer help reduce the look of larger pores and not break my face out? I have tried a few primers with silicone and I need a primer that will go on similar to the silicone but doesn't have silicone. Don't need to break out! Any suggestion would be great! Thanks!

I just got the Lorac POREfection mattifying primer and I am loving it. I also have acneic skin with bigger pores and my t-zone gets super oily throughout the day. The Lorac primer has salicylic acid in it which I think has helped with some active acne I have and it has greatly helped to control my oily t-zone when I pair it with the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Foundation (love that stuff).

i doubt very much you will break out from this primer, considering I also have exceptionally sensitive skin, and I break out to nearly every makeup product out on the market. Yet Tarte delivers to its full potential. I love tarte already and this primer creates a beautiful finish. Although i use the Flawless finish they have a poreless one, and maybe that would be good for your skin, although I thought I faced similar issues as yourself I found flawless to be my favorite.

It's not a silicon based matte primer, so it ins't going to just suck up oils, but my skin can be a bit oily in the T zone and it definitely doesn't make the issue worse. The "brightening" effect is essentially non-noticeable to me, definitely not shiny, glittery, or otherwise giving that "dewy but will look like an oil slick on you" appearance.

This primer has no mattifying properties. I suggest using a finishing powder with oil / pore reducing properties, but this kind of gives skin a wake up feeling. It is silicone free so water based products tend to adhere better to this and do not just slide off of your face.

The staying power of this primer is amazing, but it does leave a dewy finish on your skin. I have normal/dry skin and it works perfectly with my skin type. I don't know if you'll like the finish on your skin since it is indeed brightening.

Question
Treatment too?
Hi!
It say's in the description for use(s) that this can be applied as a primer or used as a treatment. So, basically the day's you don't ( & do if you think about it) wear any makeup this can be applied as a facial treatment ....kinda like a cream w/ antioxidants and other natural "good for your skin" ingredients? If so would you apply this last (as you would normally before applying your cosmetics), kinda like when layering your face serums, moisturizers, and oils? I have a deluxe sample of this and I have used it a/b 3 x's and do like it very much, (just don't want to waste it being I don't wear makeup everyday) & if there are benefits to reap (vitamins, A C E & other goodies) then I would def. like to get on it! So any knowledge of treatment use, tip's & suggestions on how to apply as a treatment when not using just as a primer would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance SO much!

If you were layering this product it would go on after your other skincare (serums, treatments, moisturizers) and before your foundation. It is waterproof, so remember anything you put on top of it that is water-based would not be able to penetrate that layer, so no moisturizers or water-based foundation. I made the mistake of putting this primer on and then Dr Jart waterfuse BB cream, and the result was not good. I now use it for my oil-based foundations or my tarte clay foundation.
