So far, my skin seems less oily to me. I normally need to powder my face halfway through the day, but with this product I haven't had to. I am really impressed with it!!!

I tend to get oily skin after a few hours and this primer really did the trick for me. It lasts for quite a while (6-8 hours) before you need to touch it up with powder.

I have very oily skin and this did nothing to absorb oil. It actually made my makeup slide off of my face. To be perfectly honest, ladies with oily skin shouldn't be using primers. Sometimes I just put a thin layer of Milk of Magnesia on before applying makeup, and that helps - google it! Sounds crazy but worth a shot...much cheaper than this $30 primer that won't work for oily skin. I am going to return this primer.

I have found this primer to significantly reduce the amount of oil that builds up on my face throughout the day. I would give it a shot if I were you; if you don't like it, Sephora will return or exchange it!

Sadly, its not a primer that controls and absorbs oil. Theres a makeup setting spray from urban decay that controls oil, maybe try using that. Hope this helps :)

I totally get those too! My conceler gets kind of cakey in my smile lines and on a little scar I have. However, I have not had this issue with this product - and thats with powder on my face too (which normally makes it worse)!

I have fine lines as well and though nothing seems to hide them as much as I would like I feel as though this product prevents my makeup from settling into those lines making them less noticeable then when I don't wear the primer.

I have huge problems with my laugh lines near my mouth and I'm only twenty! I have had almost every foundation/primer imaginable settle into the lines but this really primer really minimizes settling. It did finally settle into the about six hours after I had originally put on the makeup, but it was very little and I hadn't touched up at all. All in all I'm very impressed with it and I love how smooth my makeup went on. I also have not had any adverse effects while using it and I have extremely acne prone skin! It's a must have.

Can I use this in combination with moisturizers?

I tried this without anything else on my skin and it was terrific. My makeup lasted all day! Then I tried this with argan oil first, then a moisturizer, then this product, and then my powder foundation. This helped hide my fine lines more, but my face got oily only after a couple of hours. How can I use this product in combination with a moisturizer? Or is a moisturizer not required?

I suggest you use the Argon Oil as a deep moisturizer in the evening before you sleep. Unless you have extremely dry skin, your face should feel very moisturized already in the morning. After you wash your face, use a LIGHT moisturizer, LET IT SIT for at least a minute or two instead of applying the primer immediately after. Then once that sets, apply your primer and proceed with your regular make-up routine. This is what I do and I have oily/combo skin. This primer keeps your make-up on for a long time, and the oil-control it provides is probably the main reason :-)

I have super oily skin. I use a mattifying moisturizer from Lush thats great for oily skin types then the primer on top then my foundation. It holds up great but because my skin does gets so oily i keep transluscent powder or blotting papers handy to soak up the little excess.

I have very sensitive and acne prone skin too and so far this hasn't caused any break outs. Just make sure to use a good cleanser to get it off at night because it has a tendency to be a little thicker than others but that's what makes it such an amazing primer. If you do by some miracle break out from it, Sephora has an amazing return policy, but I think this is one of the best primers on the market for acne prone skin.

My skin is not acne prone but it is extremely sensitive and so while on its own I won't get acne, anything can cause me to break out with continued use. I have been using this for three years and use it about 5-6 times a week and it has never once broken me out. Hope this helps!

I have the same problem with my pores and Bare Minerals. I've tried a lot of different combinations to try and minimize my pores to make it work with Bare Minerals because i really love their powder. In my opinion I think it just might be a fail on either Bare Minerals part or powder foundation in general. Maybe powder foundation just isn't meant to be paired with bigger pored skin. I started using Naked foundation by Urban Decay and I'm super happy with it.

They both have relatively the same functions but I feel that the Benefit primer refines pores better and is easier to apply, while this one has longer lasting power. I like both and know someone that actually uses both for different parts of their face. That's too much work (and money) for me though :-P

I find the two very similar, almost identical. I have tested the two out myself, actually. One thing that is different is that the Tarte one comes out clear and the Benefit one doesn't. But if I were to buy one, I would go with the Tarte one because it works just a tad better for my skin type (oily). Hope this helped a little.

It really depends on your skin type. If you have dry skin and need a deep moisturizer in the morning, then it will absorb into your skin and the primer will be unaffected. But if you don't have dry skin, keep in mind that this primer is a Mattifying base so if you apply this on skin that was deeply moisturized, but not completely set in, the function of the primer will be accommodated! :-)

I truly love this primer and yes it does work well with other makeup brands. I use Clinique Foundation over this primer. My skin looks flawless. Try it I don't think you will be disappointed. Make sure you let it dry before applying your makeup.

This primer doesn't apply like other primers I've tried. It doesn't "glide" on as smoothly as I expected... But once it's evenly applied, it does feel smooth and matte.

I did try Hourglass Primer and was impressed at first. Then I tried Tarte's Clean Slate. It does not feel powdery at all when it is applied. I truly do not think primer should feel powdery when applied to a freshly washed face. This feels smooth and so soft once it dries.
