The amazing technology works for every shade and finish. Every Urban Decay shade is silky, blendable, and stays put. What it is formulated WITHOUT:- Parabens- Sulfates- Synthetic Fragrances- Petrochemicals- Phthalates- GMOs- Triclosan What else you need to know:The new assortment of shades features bestselling favorites, all new shades, and several shades previously available in past palettes. Packaging was inspired by NYC subway tokens; the chromed gunmetal compact with a clear window allows you to see your shade and pop your shadows out and into one of the new customizable palettes.

Questions & Answers for Urban Decay Eyeshadow

Question
Are these available in stores yet?
I was wondering if anyone has found these in stores yet? I don't have a Sephora store near me, but I will be going on vacation in June and will be visiting a store. I was hoping to check these out in person, so just wondering if they will be in stores at that time.

No, but they have a very easily blendable formula so any brush or sponge applicator will work just fine. Urban Decay also sells their own line of Good Karma brushes.

Question
Are these shadows good for contact wearers?
I went to see my eye doctor today and she said I should avoid makeup that is not good for contact wearers and especially because my eyes are so dry. She said to especially avoid waterproof makeup and glittery because it does not dissolve in the eye and may get pushed around in my eye, causing scratches, which she said I had a lot of in my eyes.

My eyes dry out easily when I wear contacts, but this eye shadow doesn't bother me at all. Hopefully it wouldn't irritate you as well.

I wear contacts and also have very dry eyes. So far this shadow has not given me any problems...but I have only used it for eyeliner. Color: Blackout.

I'm a contact wearer too and I suffer from dry eyes. This is actually my favorite eye shadow to use as it doesn't flake into my eyes like cheaper brands. I say go for it :)

Take a look because many of the UD shadows have huge chunky glitter in it or small specs of glitter so at least just make sure you don't get those colors w/ the glitter chunks. Urban Decay's website breaks down each color about its consistency and glitter contents.

Has anyone compared the new formula of Midnight Cowboy to the old formula?

do not get the new formula if you loved all the glitter the old formula has. this new formula seems more like a shimmer and it doesn't have all that glamour of the old one. like everyone else said, there's going to be "fall out" either way, but if the glitter was important to you (like it is to me) search down the old formula on urban decay's website before it sells out. there's a lot of anti-glitter people here on sephora for some reason, but if you're pro-glitter, stay far away from this new formula.

answer 2
The glitter in all of the new ones is finer and therefore has less fallout. It's still there, but not as abvious as the old formula, and it's easy to wipe away with a cotton ball.

i highly prefer it in the new formula, honestly. the glitter in the old formula made the shadow a bit gritty for me, but that's totally gone with the new formula. i also feel like you get more color payoff from the new formula, too, without having to apply as much. the glitter in it still goes everywhere, just like with the old one, as the previous reviewer said, so no change there, but i do feel that the glitter stays in place better with the new formula.

if you seriously need this color, buy it. if you're wanting to try others, though, i'm with the previous reviewer, and suggest trying other palates. if you're like me though, and you know what you like (and will never use 85% of those wild colors) just get what you want!

Yes Ive tried both. It is creamier, less powdery, more pigmented, less fallout. You will still have fallout, but its less. You will still need a piece of tp under your eye when you apply to catch fallout. I dont think its worth buying a shade in the new formula if you own it in the old, just my opinion. Try something new. Have you ever used sellout, midnight rodeo, or vanilla if pale skin? Also keep in mind that several UD palettes already have the new formula; 15 yr ann, mariposa, naked 2, the recent book of shadows. If you want a color, but you can find it in one of those, it might be better to get the palette (selection and money). Unless it is your all time favorite shade, I dont think its worth it. Sorry, my opinion and Im being honest. I do think the new formula is worth trying, its nice. Id just get it in a color I didnt own and in a color that I couldnt get in a palette.

If they are the new eyeshadows yes, if old, no. They will have a small indentation in the ring of plastic around the shadow if they can. You push from the bottom and they pop right out

Yes! They pop out quiet easily. Sephora carries the "build your own palette" in a 4-pot version, and Urban Decay's website carries a 6-slot. You should be able to fit them into any master pro palette though.

There are so many but the ones I reach for the most are Toasted, Stray Dog, Busted, Hijack, Bender, and Loaded. I also like all of the "Midnight" colors as highlighters, even though they are notorious for being messy. The new formula is a little better than the old one when it comes to fallout though.

Color recommendations for olive skin/brown eyes?

I am a lighter toned Asian with yellow undertones. I also have dark brown eyes. I also like more of the neutral toned makeup. My favorite UD shadows for a day time appropriate smokey eye are toasted and smog. My favorite for a liner color or a night time appropriate smokey eye is dark horse. Favorite tear duct highlight is half baked.

I recommend picking up the UD Naked Palette (original) if you are going to purchase more than 2 shadows. It has great neutrals and some that you may not think to try being olive toned.
