Questions & Answers for Living Proof Restore Recovery Regimen

Question
Will if soften coarse hair?
Ok, I have coarse unbelievably thick hair that is straight and past my shoulders. It also poofs up and even the finest hair care brands can't keep it smooth and soft. I don't color my hair and I rarely iron it ( I also do things like hair masks and hot oil treatments), so it isn't necessarily damaged but it still has plenty of split ends and breakage. Will this Recovery Regimen kinda "turn down the volume" and soften my hair? Please help this is a last resort.

Do u have hard water? If you have hard water anything you try probably will not work till you have softer water. I found this out myself. I had dry frizzy hair untill we changed our water system.

Yes! What's great about this product is the fact that unlike many other masks on the market this treatment hits the core of each strand of hair for extreme hydration for ultra strong hair.

It should help but also make sure to get your ends trimmed every 4-6 weeks as that will help also. You can try using it or any treatment you use by putting it on your hair, covering with a cap and using a bonnet or blow dryer for 20-30 minutes and then rinsing. The heat helps it stick to and mend the hair better and faster.

Yes, it does smooth my hair down a bit - but I also use a conditioner full of silicones after I use this, if I want really sleek hair

Any mask/treatment can be used over night; place under a plastic cap and off you go.

It says to leave on for 5 minutes but there shouldn't be a problem leaving it on overnight or putting it on your hair, covering hair with a cap and using either a bonnet or blow dryer for 20-30 minutes either then rinsing.

Question
Isn't it damaging the outer cuticle in order to "penetrate the cortex"?
I've tried two applications on my unprocessed hair and am worried it could be increasing damage.

I found it caused damage to my hair. I wrote a review that was posted here, and then it disappeared. Sephora must be editing the reviews at the request of the "Living Proof" company. Now we know that the reviews are biased.

Question
Does anyone use this more than once a week?
My hair felt great after using this, but when I conditioned a few days later with my regular conditioner (Alterna replenishing moisture) my hair was back to feeling dry and unmanageable. So I'm wondering if anyone uses this as a regular conditioner and if so what kind of hair you had and the results you've seen. Thanks!!!

You are suppose to use it once a week. I use it on my last hair wash prior to coloring, the day of coloring- I have my stylist put it on my hair, then again one week after coloring. My hair feels pretty good after this but in the beginning, I used it again one week after the last.

The mask is a waste of money- the regular conditioner does a better job. This conditioning treatment is just that- a treatment. I use a couple of days before coloring my hair, then bring a tube with me to my salon so after I color my hair my stylist puts this on. I then use it again one week after coloring.
