Questions & Answers for Murad Intensive–C® Radiance Peel

Question
Anyone tried this on decollete?
I'm 39 and noticing a change in the skin on my chest, and looking for a good option for an at-home peel for face as well as decollete - so if this works well for both, then i'd be thrilled. I know the skin on the chest is thicker than my face, but... anyone tried it?

I have not tried it on my chest, but this is a peel that is on the stronger side (and believe me i have tried every peel under the sun: philosophy, PTR, brazilian, you mention it!) of the spectrum, i am sure it might work perfect! love this product

I have not tried it on the declotage, but I have tried it on the back of my hands, which are a thicker area of skin than the face. It really seemed to help exfoliate and brighten! I was surprised because I didn't really expect to see much difference. It wasn't as dramatic as the results I saw on my face, but it did work. This is a really nice product, and I am stingy with my praise!! Good luck!!

Question
How does this product compare/contrast to the brazilian peel?
I typically use the brazilian peel once a week for a month--take a few months off and then do it again. I noticed on the reviews that people are using this product more often--2 or 3 times a week.
How do the two compare? If I switch to this product should I expect similar results as I get from the brazilian peel?

I prefer this product much more. I have used the brazilian and even though did peel, my skin was kind of coarse to the touch after. Not the case with this one, I have combo skin and pores on the larger side, so it did wonders for me. I do not buy the brazilian anymore, i believe is way overhyped

I like this product better than the Brazilian Peel. Both are non-irritating & both left my skin feeling & looking brighter & smoother, but the Murad product is a much better value. It's also easier to use.

This is milder than the Brazilian Peel. You can use it more frequently, but you will get less of a result.

Question
Can you be in sunlight after use?
I got a sample of this in my VIB bag & I know you're not supposed to have sun exposure after some peels because it can give you skin discoloration. And with their brightening sirum you have to stay out of sunlight. Can you have any sun exposure after use? And is it safe for your eye area?

Not sure. But I tried to avoid sun light/room light all together during the 10 mins.

I have not had any problem going in the sun after using this. I have uber light skin, so I don't sunbathe, and can't say what would happen if you purposefully stayed out in the sun with your face to the sky... but average exposure seemed to be no problem.

How does this compare to the Philosophy Microdelivery Dual Phase Peel?
How does this compare to the Philosophy Microdelivery Dual Phase Peel?
I have sensitive skin and I also use a clarisonic but I want a peel to use maybe twice a month to help with the marks I get from the occasional breakout. Which of these 2 products is better?

I have never used the Philosophy Microdelivery Dual Phase Peel, so this might not be helpful to you.... but intensive-c radiance peel is really amazing. You can feel a little tingle, but it does not burn. Just enough to let you know it is working. And boy does it. It really removes that top dry/dead skin and leaves my face smooth and beautiful. I have never used another product like it. I know that I got a small sample tube once (which is what hooked me). It is one of the only sample products I tried and was impressed enough with to buy a full size. Maybe they will offer it again as a sample or as a 100 point bonus.

this stings more but also delivers more. Might be too strong for sensitive skin so i suggest you test it at home on a small area first!

Question
Does this peel reduce pore size?
Have visible pores and need a mask or peel that will help reduce the size of pores. Pores are visible even after makeup is applied.

Nothing actually reduces pore size, but this product does leave my dry/aging skin looking smoother & brighter, & tighter without drying, so yes, it does minimize the appearance of pores.

Question
How to properly use it?
Are you suppose to apply the product on with a dry face? or is this a lathering product? This is my first time using a peel, and i tried it with a dry face and I didn't feel it tingle, but I also do not have sensitive skin.

I have dry/aging/somewhat sensitive skin, so I use a gentle cleanser, then pat dry with a clean towel, then apply this peel cream. It's hard to say exactly how much to use. I guess a fair description would be: enough so that you can just see it. Not so little that it's invisible & not so heavy that it looks like plaster. About the same amount you might use for stage makeup. I leave it on for 5 minutes. It rinses off easily & is non-irritating, & leaves my skin looking clearer & brighter. I'm on my 4th or 5th tube. Really like this product.

Hi there, you should apply this peel on a clean, dry face and leave on for 10 minutes. It will not lather.

Box doesn't say percentage of glycolic acid, but it's the 5th ingredient (after water, kaolin, synthetic beeswax & glycerin). I feel a mild tingling sensation when I use it - best way to describe it is a tangible exfoliant experience - but it doesn't irritate my sensitive/aging skin. I like it enough that I'm on my third purchase of the full-size tube.

Question
Does this help clear occasional breakouts?
My skin is generally clear but I do get the occasional bump or two during 'that time' of the month. I am using this peel mainly for sun damage and slight discoloration. Just wondering if it could help clear breakouts or do I need to turn to my clay clarifying mask for that.

This product is amazing. I find that if I use it weekly, it helps remove that top layer of dry/dead skin that seems to trap oil, dirt, sebum etc underneath, and reduces breakouts.
