Questions & Answers for Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H

Question
Yellow Undertones?
Just wondering if anyone finds that this foundation is good for those with very yellow undertones, or if the warm shades still run a little pink. I have very yellow undertones, I wear a #40 in mufe mat velvet but even that's a little too peachy on me. Thanks!

I've had this exact same problem! I used to use MUFE too and found it ran pink on my skin. This foundation would be perfect for you. The warm shades run very yellow, even to the point that it could make you look jaundice if you're not careful.

The warm shades in this do run yellow. I have this in a warm undertone and there is no pink in it at all.

Question
How to apply
What is the best way to apply this foundation? I currently use a foundation brush that I dampen a little before application bc I prefer a lighter coverage. I like how it comes out but I've also read that applying with your fingers or a damp make up sponge works better. I am open to all suggestions!

What I usually do to apply is put a small amount of foundation on my wrist, to "warm it up." Then I dip my foundation brush in and "paint" streaks across my cheeks, chin, nose, and forehead. Afterwards I blend with my fingers and it looks very natural. You have to apply it in a natural lighting and prep with moisturizer (I use Clinique) and primer (I use one from Victoria's Secret.) To make mine stay a little better, I also finish with Bare Escentuals Luminous Mineral Veil. Prepping and priming is very important to obtain the most natural finish.

I've used several methods for applying this: fingers, damp Beautyblender sponge, a regular foundation brush and a dense stipple brush. My favorite method so far is with a stipple brush, this leaves a very natural skin-like finish and since Teint Idole has a super bendable formula it is the perfect candidate for the stipple method.

C - cool
W - warm
N - neutral

I'm 110 Ivoire C, meaning I'm cool toned. Look at the veins on your wrist. If they're blue, you're cool toned and if they're green, you're warm toned. Or you could be neutral, like the shade after my shade.

I use Prime Time face primer with this foundation and I've had great skin. I struggle with acne as well, but using primer has helped! I make sure to use makeup remover at the end of the day and keep a good routine up of washing my face, which also helps. But I loved this foundation in regards to my complexion.

I have pretty good size pores on my nose and on my cheeks. I feel this foundation didn't clog my pores. I always have had trouble with acne and when I used it, it didn't make my problems any worse. However I think if your concern is pores and depending on the coverage you want, you should definitely check out the clinique pore refining solutions foundation.

i dont know what "no transfer" means for this product. I dont even know what "long-lasting" means for it either! I have it and find that it will probably stay on your face longer if your have an oily skin type. my skin type is dry- and i see that this product really does not cater to my face. It does not stay on for a long time- i have to reapply at least 5 hours later, so there goes the 24HR longlasting claim. oh well. It depends on your face and skin type.

It does say it's oil free, and the coverage is one of the better out there, both in quality of the coverage and opaquemess.
But one to rival it a bit more in coverage, and is defintley oil free as well, is Clarins Everlasting Foundation. But it's limited color range (almost non existant past a medium tan) doesn't begin to compare with Lancomes Ultra 24 in both tone and shade.

Question
Comparison to Make up forever HD foundation
I am wondering what people think of this foundation compared to make up forever HD foundation. I cannot decide! They are so similar. I even did half my face in each one and by the end of the day, I can't decide which is better. I have oily skin and both seem to control it well.

Thanks for your opinions!

I have tried, and like you, liked both. I actually would prefer the Lancome 24HR over the MUFE HD. I think the MUFE HD is over hyped and the kicker for me is the lasting power. I find that the Lancome 24HR lasts longer and at the end of the day it still looks good whereas the MUFE HD starts to get too dewy and some parts fade.

I hope I can help with explanation. Lancome has SPF, Make up Forever doesn't - which means Make up Forever is better for sensitive skin. Lancome DOES look better if you are ok with formula (break out wise). MUFE HD looks more "powdery"... I don't know how else to explain it. I have big pores and HD brings out the pores a little bit. Not bad but wish it could be a little better. :)

Yes! Simply take the foundation back to your local Sephora with your receipt for an exchange for a different shade.

If you have your receipt, you can bring it in and I am sure they will do something for you. You can always return foundation to Sephora if it is the wrong shade. If you ever have the chance in the future, try to get a sample to test first. They will make you a sample of foundation to take home and use before you make the investment into the product.
