Questions & Answers for Ole Henriksen Truth Crème™ Vitamin C Advanced Hydration

Question
How does this compare to the Ole Henriksen Truth Revealed Super Creme SPF 15?
I'm just wondering what the difference is besides the sunscreen. Could I use this in place of the Truth Revealed Super Creme SPF 15?

I have used both, but prefer this one. It's a lighter texture, while the version with the SPF seems much thicker/denser. This one also seemed to glide over my skin easier and provides more of a dewy finish. I bought the SPF version because I was concerned about sun protection, but the smell of it is overwhelming and it's just too thick.

You could, but I would continue to use the Truth revealed creme during the day because it has SP15, and I would use the Truth Creme as a night creme.

The only difference seems to be the SPF and this cream applies a bit lighter and absorbs quicker. I use both… SPF for day and non SPF for night.

Question
Smell?
Got a sample of this today and maybe it was old or something but the smell of this cream is disgusting. Like mold or moth balls or wet dirty socks. It's horrendous. I had to wash my face and and threw it away and can still smell it. Is it just me? Or bad sample?

Yes! I guess it is just a few people. I am not a weird sniffing fanatic or overly sensitive to smells but it just reeked to me.

HAHA! Did it have an orangey smell to it at all? Like orangey moldiness? If so it wasn't bad, that's what it smells like. At first I didn't like it either (though i didn't find it as bad as you did lol) but it grew on me a bit, and some rly like it. But yeah if you dislike the smell that much def don't buy. But if it had NO orange smell to it then maybe it was a bad sample, i dunno

No, there are a few oils listed in its ingredients. If you are acne-prone or have oily skin and are worried about the oil in that regard, I have that type of skin and it did not bother me. It actually helped my skin and evened my skin tone. It's definitely worth trying.

If you want more glow, less discoloration or were seeing fine lines, wrinkles, less taught : the yellow truths, the African red tea line, because both are high in antioxidants( they are going to protect and possibly reverse you from environmental damage, sun damage- causing dark spots- signs of fatigue, signs of stress) , vitamin c (which will brighten lighten tighten) and i would use a exfoliator because if you are dehydrated, then these concerns will be elevated from the dry skin sitting on the skin emphasizing the lines, and also exfoliation (1-2 times a week) will help your products reach into the skin so they actually work instead of sitting on top. also exfoliation will help with dark spots.

These defiantly cover the main signs of aging, and wont hurt your skin if you're not seeing all of those signs.

I'm 40 and I use this at night and the Truth Revealed™ Super Crème SPF 15 during the daytime since it has SPF. I think my smile lines are less noticeable with this cream, as it hydrates so well... This was highlighted during a recent trip when I used another moisturizer (Shiseido's Urban Environment Oil–Free UV Protector SPF 42 PA+++), which dried me out so badly that I felt like my face was cracking and every line was grossly visible!

Question
Has anyone used Truth Creme Advanced Hydration with Retin-a?
I was wondering if anyone used Retina with this, and if so, how they were using it? For example, how long of a wait before putting on the Retin-a? I am 26 and using the Retin-a for line/wrinkle prevention and to combat adult acne. My skin is fairly sensitive. This creme just happened to come with my clarisonic, and I tried it because I was out of lotion and my face was so dry. I have only been using for 2 days, but it hasn't made my acne worse, which is a miracle. I was thinking about sticking with it since I haven't had a bad reaction yet, but if anyone has any suggestions for better/different face lotions that will work well with Retin-a and are good for acne, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

I also deal with adult acne from time to time and bought the DDF salyclic acid cleanser to help. The cleanser is amazing and completely keeps the acne at bay, however I was so dry from it that I needed an intensive moisturizer. This moisturizer is amazing--I cleanse my face, use eye cream and serum then add this over right away, no wait time. Every now and then I throw some retina on if I feel its necessary and you really dont have to wait too long between using them. This absorbs very quickly so you can do makeup right away. I highly recommend this.

I use Retin-A at night and a different medication in the morning, and this is actually one of the few products I've found that doesn't have any kind of reaction with either one! I've tried other things that, combined with the medicines, made my face burn, but this one feels just fine. It also is one of a very few things that keeps my skin hydrated when the Retin-A makes it dry!

Question
Wondering how this compares to the Truth Serum and which one works better.
I don't like to use a lot of face products and I'd like to use one or the other. So just wondering which one works better and produces better results or if they are fairly comparable.

I use both, first the truth serum and then the creme. The truth serum is barely moisturizing- I use it for its anti-oxident/anti-aging properties and then rely on the creme for the moisturizing effect.

So if you need a moisturizer, I would go with the Advanced Hydration. And if you want SPF, then pick the Truth Revealed Super Creme.

I used the truth serum for a couple months continuously and eventually stopped as I didn't see a major difference. I prefer this cream if I had to choose between the two-- I love this cream and have been using it for about four months and I'm always excited to put it on. In terms of Ole's serums, I actually prefer the enlighten me serum (blue bottle). My skin has been looking good with this product.

unfortunately yes, this is normal. It really stinks. I tried it from a sample and luckily I didn't buy a jar. The smell was so bad I had to write a review about it to warn people about the smell. I'd say if you just used it a maximum of a couple times, bring it back and try to get your money back or just get credit so you can buy the one you really wanted!

depends on how much you like the store. If you love the store, I'd still go back and just tell the manager about the employee. If that's too confrontational, I'd email the company.
