That is Julep's nail polish packaging. .27 fluid ounces/8 ml Yes, it is $14, though if you shop around you can find it for less. I've tried it, and won't be trying again. Certainly not worth the price.

Yes, it's a very expensive polish. I would only recommend it if you are DYING to own the color.

Julep polishes are toxin-free. If that is important to you, then you know there are LOTS of additives in all sorts of beauty products that can be toxic. For some, that is worth the extra cost.

It is indeed nail polish, and the bottle is roughly the size of a large, square lipstick tube. BUT - it goes on very smooth, lasts and you don't need much of it. I know it seems pricey, but it's really worth it.

It is nail polish...i believe that they also sell lip gloss but, there arent many colors. This is def. an over priced polish - good colors but too pricey.

Question
compare to OPI
how does the Julep formula compare to OPI nail polishes (both in application and durability?)

I found Julep to be a thinner product, with inconsistent coverage. It was clumpy despite the thinness and I got lots of tiny bubbles. Though OPI isn't my favorite brand, it is much better than Julep.

this brand is super easy to apply - easier than any other brand i've applied though definitely not as durable. the polish usually chips within a few hours.

Tops it 10 fold- seriously. The brush alone is so much better. Formula is so fast drying. Worth every cent!

I definitely prefer Julep over OPI. I got a pedicure a month ago & it hasn't chipped yet... At all! I also think the texture of Julep is thicker where as OPI is thinner and more watery. OPI does have some nice colors but I am now converted into a Julep girl. LoL

Btw, if you like pink I definitely recommend going with the color "Reese." It's absolutely beautiful!

Hope this helps. =)

If you typically use OPI, you will be incredibly disappointed in Julep... They "go bad" very quickly and have no staying power whatsoever--chips within hours, even with a topcoat!

From my experience Julep feels thicker. Like one coat would be enough. With OPI I feel like you would need at least two coats. Also, Julep goes on so easily. It's like impossible to mess up. Even if you do, it's almost as if Julep nail lacquer fixes itself. In the end after drying, they both look nice but I would recommend Julep over OPI any day. Also, they last about the same. Julep might last one day longer from what I've noticed.

I find julip dries faster but doesn't nessesarily wear longer than OPI. Then again, I'm a China Glaze fan. I dislike the wait for the OPI to dry where as China Glaze dries immediately. I do have some OPI and I really love the colors, the same goes for Julip, and the Nails.inc work great too. I like how quickly the Nails inc dry quickly too. If you don't mind a longer drying time stick with the OPI and use a great top coat.

Question
Any other brands also with suede finish?
I really like Julep's suede finish colors, like Nora and Minka. They're metallic in a really matte, quiet way, very pretty.
However I was really disappointed with the texture and durability... like most people.
Are there any other brands that has similar color and finish? I got OPI "I'm with Brad" sparkly dark red and the magnetic polish, but they're still all glossy.
Thanks!

I"m not entirely sure what a suede finish looks like, but Butter London has a matte top coat. I haven't used it, so I can't speak to how it looks in real-life. I have tried other Butter London nail products and been very pleased.

ESSIE is great, they have an incredible palette and at half the price of Julep. Very long lasting. Good luck!

I have not seen another brand with a suede finish but Illamasqua makes a rubber finish nail polish which is matte. Ciate also makes a nail polish that has a velvet finish similar to the suede but involves you finishing the polish with a matte textured powder.
