Questions & Answers for Clarisonic Acne Daily Clarifying Cleanser

Question
Irritating to eyes?
Does this sting your eyes? This is the #1 problem I've had using anti-acne cleansers with my Clarisonic.

I've been using this cleanser with the Mia 2 brush for a few months now. It does sting my eyes if it gets into them. But if I cleanse my forehead area last, it doesn't have time to drip down into my eyes.

I haven't noticed that as an issue and I have been using the item for over a month. It has a very nice scent to it as well.

Well directions do say avoid eye area. Like most cleansers, if you get it in your eye, it will irritate.

Question
Texture/lather?
Just wondering what the texture is like because I don't like gel cleansers much and it doesn't specify--does this lather, and is it milky, creamy, or smooth at all, or just how is it texture-wise in general? Looking for an acne cleanser that doesn't dry me out, which nearly all of them do. Thanks!

It has a texture of a light moisturizer I would say. It is not thin, it is not thick, it is not a gel, it doesn't lather

I have combo skin which can be really dry in spots. the Acne cleanser is working well for me. It's a gel but i think there are microbeads in it. It also produces a good foamy lather when using it with the Clarisonic. I have it paired with the acne brush head and have had good success with it.

It's milky not foamy. It will slightly lather with your Clarisonic. It stinks though.

I would try the Deep Pore Cleanser if you are wanting to deep clean your pores. I like that cleanser much better than the Acne cleanser. I only recommend this product if you have a breakout that you want to clear up, I really do recommend this product for daily use.

No, I use it without the clarisonic and my skin has been acne free for the past two years since I started using it. I do get a pimple then and there but that's because I sometimes come home too late and tired from work to wash my makeup off.

I would recommend a clarisonic to anyone, as it is the best thing I have done for my skin. However, you do not need the clarisonic to use this, it is a great cleanser on it's own.

It's gentle enough for sensitive skin. I have sensitive skin and I didn't have any problem with it. It keeps your skin soft compare to some acne cleanser that may dry up the skin.

Question
Works all on its own to clear skin?
The last thing I want to do is go back to my teen routine of acne products that dry me out horribly and make my skin suffer--even the ones that say they want. It's tempting to believe this is a one fix wonder and I can keep using my own non-acne specific toner, moisturizers, serums, etc. Anyone have a success story getting rid of sudden stubborn breakout skin condition with just this cleanser?? Thanks

This product dried out my skin horribly but it did dry up my breakout within 3 uses. Maybe try Boscia's Black Mask or Black Hydrating Gel to help control your breakouts because they have worked for me. I also like Glam Glow's Clearing Mask.

I use this with a sulfur overnight cream and that's enough without over drying. It's hard to say: this product Aline might be enough for your skin.

Question
with pro version and sensitive, acne prone skin, what cleanser(s), brushes should I use?
Several years ago I purchased the Clarisonic Pro model. My uber senistive, combination, and highly allergic acne prone skin could only tolerate the delicate brushes. Initially I used the Clarionic refreshing gel cleanser for combination oily skin, but although it didn't irritate my skin, it was less than sucessful in taking care of the acne. I then switched to Philosophy's purity foaming and clear days head cleanser as then suggested by Clarisonic. It worked a bit better, but now that Clarisonic has it's own acne daily clarifying cleanser, and a deep pore daily cleanser along w/ the original combo/oily hydro cleanser--I'm at a loss as which one(s) to choose from. I also wonder if my delicate brushes can be used with the new acne cleansers? Can anyone please give me advice?

Thanks!

I personally love the Deep Pore Cleanser. I didn't get any results from the Daily Clarifying cleanser. I prefer the lather Deep Pore gives and it just feels like my skin is actually getting cleaned. I don't have the Clarisonic brush but I use a face complexion brush and precision pore cleansing pad. They're both very cheap. I love the cleansing pad! It is amazing! I've noticed a huge difference with my hormonal acne from the Deep Pore Cleanser and using the cleansing pad.

Yes, you can use any brush with any cleanser. However for acne the softer the brush the better. Use the sensitive or the acne brush so you don't irritate the acne. The stiffer brush is for large pores.

Question
Can this be used without the brush system?
I'm looking for a new cleanser and am encouraged by the positive reviews of this one. I don't have (and am not interested in purchasing) the brush system, though. Can I use this cleanser w/o one or will it be ineffective?

It wouldn't be ineffective due to the salicylic acid which is 2%. It is a gel cleanser so if you like to have one that has scrubbing beads, this is not for you.
