The bag has 3 compartment separated by clear plastic and a zipper. you could fit make brushes in one, make up in the other two. It is a decent size.

Top zipped compartment give you 5 individual slots for brushes and another clear zipped pocket/pouch. The bottom zipped compartment open to a deeper storage with a removable divider (which I took out) to fit couple of my Dior shadow palettes, blush compacts and even the LORAC Pro shadow palette, and another clear zipped pocket. It has enough space for me to pack everything I need for a long trip. I travel a lot and this pouch is perfect for carry-on and/or check-in luggage. Lining is nylon white/dark blue stripe, very retro. I'm so sorry I'm not good with the description but the site would not let me upload the photos. I hope this help at least.

Organizer (rectangle) has two zipped sections, one with a clear flat zipped compartment and 5-6 pouches for holding brushes, mascara, etc., and a deeper open section with a velcro divider and another clear flat zipped section. Holds an amazing amount of stuff.

The bag I ordered has two large, clear zippered pockets on the inside as well as a smaller pocket in the middle. It also has a zippered pocket on the outside. It holds a lot, volume wise, but isn't bulky. The clear pockets make it easy to find what you're looking for instantly. I love this bag and just wish I'd ordered more!

The inside of the medium bag and organizer are black and white striped. The medium bag can fit a couple hand fulls of small items inside and has one small zippered compartment on the side. The organizer has a large clear zippered compartment on both sides of the inside of the bag. One side opens up to small compartments for a few normal sized brushes with a large clear compartment on the flap. The other side opens to a deeper compartment (about 1-1.5 inches) which also has a clear compartment on the flap.
