Questions & Answers for REN No.1 Purity Cleansing Balm

Question
Clarisonic?
is this good to use with a Clarisonic? I've been looking for a creamy, gentle cleanser that won't dry out my skin AND works well with the Clarisonic.

Yes, I use this product with my Clarisonic. I massage it onto my face for a couple of minutes, then wet my Clarisonic brush, and then do the Clarisonic "ritual." I use the muslin cloth to rinse off/remove the balm.

This isn't good to use with the Clarisonic because it doesn't foam. It's great to use with a washcloth to remove, though.

I would not use this with a Clarisonic. It is quite thick, and it may lead you to have to change your brush head more often. I've actually been told by a dermatologist to not use anything but water with my Clarisonic...in other words, cleanse normally and remove all makeup, then exfoliate with my Clarisonic so I don't end up pushing makeup into my skin.

If you want a cleanser to use with your Clarisonic, I recommend Purity Made Simple by philosophy. It was the one I used to use. You can get the tiny travel bottle and it will last you forever, but I've found my skin has been at its best with just water after a normal cleansing routine. Any my brush heads do not get dirty or makeup-y at all anymore.

Using it with a Clarisonic is how I found out about it!!! The Clarisonic rep used the Ren Balm on me with the Clarisonic and it works fabulously! Plus you only need a small dab, much less than if you were to just use your fingers/hands to wash your face. I use it 2x/day with the Clarisonic and it's wonderful, removes all my makeup and leaves my skin so soft!

Question
OK to use for congested skin?
I have very dry but congested skin and was told by my derm to use a gentle, non-foaming cleanser to try and balance out my skin. I've heard great things about this cleanser but want to know if people with similar skin have had success.

Please try it. It is insane how it is both amazingly gentle and truly cleanses your face. It is simply the best cleanser I have ever used and I have used a lot. I used to use Josie Maran before this and was totally satisfied but on a whim purchased this because of the good word. I will never turn back. This is also my go to gift, as the packaging and the sweet little cloth that is included makes it so special. The scent and the way you apply it (read the instructions and follow them) makes it as if you have gone to a spa. I actually look forward to starting and ending the day because of this product. No lie.

I have congested skin and I find that it works great for cleaning your skin but it won't treat your congested, acneic skin. Use this as a face wash but use an acne treatment afterwards.

I love it for congested skin. It melts off your makeup & with regular use, it will melt away dirt, debris, excess oil, and train oily skin to produce less oil. I definitely do suggest using it just as a makeup remover if your skin is congested. Follow with a cleanser that has willowbark, salicylic, sage, or some other pore clarifying ingredient. Ren's cleanser for combination skin is a great cleanser to follow with.

Question
How much cleanser do you use?
Tried it for the first time, but not sure if I used enough. Didn't get a 'luxurious milk'.

I've been using Ren's cleansing balm for a bout a year. It's a tricky product, it only takes about a dime-size amount to clean the entire face. Put it directly on a dry-made up face then gently lather it up. It left me feeling pretty greasy so I actually would put it on, let it melt a bit then add Clinique's exfoliating scrub on top and it works wonderfully. Scubby, moisturizing, super clean results.

I am obsessed with this face cleanser but agree with, it's not always "milky" unless I'm using it in the shower. I think the warm steam helps create that texture
