Questions & Answers for Buxom Buxom True Hue™ Blush

Question
What kind of brush to use?
I have one of these shades but I forgot to get the brush. I tried using one of my Bare Minerals blush brushes but I didn't get any product out till I used my finger. Do I have to get the buxom brush or can I get just a regular brush?

You can use a regular brush, but I recommend the Sephora Collection I.T Angled Natural Blush Brush, the Sephora Anlged Blush Brush works just as good and costs the same. Even if it may seem a bit pricey, ($32) it really is worth it. The blush will go on smoother and more natural looking, you will also use less product and be able to gradually build the color as you prefer; it is a good investment. I love how it feels! And ever since I changed my blush brush to this one, I've received many compliments on my blush

I already had a brush at home and just used that one and it worked fine. Make sure your brush is clean and just sweep/swirl a few times then tap and apply. If it doesn't look like you have much on just repeat,.

you can use any type of brush. I find these really densely packed so I have to use a heavy hand especially because the shades I have are soo sheer so I use more of a dense brush to pick up more product. Hope this helps.

I don't like the sparkly blushes either and have bought so many just to get a matte look. Although this blush does have a shimmer in it, it isn't even close to the majority of the high shimmer/glitter blushed on the market. If you purchase this blush, just be sure to apply sparingly. It is extremely pigmented. One very light swipe and a light blow off is the perfect amount. I used Tryst as it is closest to my skin color and it looks very natural! I'm Blonde, green eyes, medium olive color skin

I have swept away which is a satin finish so it has more of a sheen with no visible shimmer and I also have luvitate which has some shimmer kind of like Nars orgasm but when you apply it is very fine shimmer and can be buffed out. I am not sure about the other shades but if you are looking at either of these shades i hope this helps.

Hi. I Purchased this in Shangri La-la, and although there is a pretty sheen, I would not call it shimmery. That being said, I have not swatched any of the other shades so I can only speak for this one. I was specifically looking for a product without glitter or lots of shimmer, And this one fit the bill. It reflects light in a pretty way, so it is definitely not matte either, it's a pretty berry sheen. Hope that helps.

Question
What is the lasting power?
I have VERY oily skin and most blushes don't last more than 2 hours. I am thinking about purchasing Shangri-La-la, but I already have a similar color. However, I would purchase this if it has relatively good staying power because the other one does not.

I have combination skin but in the summer I look like someone sprayed oil on my face. I use this on top of my liquid foundation and then put the blush on top. I do use a setting spray from Urban Decay the All-Nighter Spray and this blush lasts at least six hours for me. Hope this helps!

I happen to love the way the Buxom brush applies this blush. However, it requires that I carry it separately in a makeup case or throw it in my purse. You might want to try the retractable blush brushes made by Sephora - they are reasonably priced, easy to carry (though still separate) and will stay clean and shaped because there is a cover.

I would buy a retractable kabuki brush... Too Faced has a large one $32 and a smaller one (only available in Primed, Poreless & Perfected to Go Due $15 for brush & powder). Sephora makes one for $18. Hope this helps :)

I have the same problem, but from my experience it's more about the texture of the blush than the color. I am partial to buxom blush, and it has never irritated my skin. Go for whatever color you are comfortable with, but avoid the colors with glitter. In my opinion, it capitalizes on skin imperfections. A sheen would do just fine. Hope that helps!

I would concentrate on using a good base, foundation or tinted moisturizer, concealer & then setting powder to neutralize your red spots... then you should be able to apply whatever shade of blush suits your skin tone, hair & eyes. I have the same problem concealing dark spots before applying blush or bronzer.

Normally a rosy or plum blush color looks fab on pale skin. Keep in mind you must b light handed since these colors are very pigmented. The plus side is that your blush will mostly last forever that way. I do like benefits blushes as well as buxom and kat von d. Good luck!
