It's self-pumping doe foot applicator. The tip absorbs the gloss and color (similar to the test wands at the stations in store).

Sadly for you, it is the "fuzzy" brush. I think it's called a sponge-tip or something. Kind of micro-fiberish. It's not a brush with hairs.

These have the usual foam doe foot applicator -- so yes, I think this is the "fuzzy" kind that you don't like. It does not have a brush applicator. The Bare Escentuals 100% Natural glosses do have brush applicators if you want to check those out.

White Russian vs. Sandy or Samantha
Has anyone tried both of these? I'm curious what kind of colour I can expect versus the colours that were in the "polish" line that I adored (and already didn't contain sparkles). Thanks!

Hi! I have both Samantha and White Russian. And I love them both. Let me tell you my take. Samantha is a shimmery, low sparkle pink. I love it for a tiny bit of pop when I don't want my lips to stand out too much, but still want a tiny bit of color. It's a nice, baby pink. White Russian is a sheer nude, creamy, no sparkle gloss. It does shine, but far less. It's a perfect neutral--not rosey, not orange. It is pink, technically, but I say it's a perfect skin tone neutral. When you want your eyes to pop and your lips to shine but no compete, this lip cream is the way to go. I recommend that you go over to Sephora and test them if you can. Otherwise, for sparkling sheer pink go with Samantha. For sheer, creamy, pinkish nude, go with white russian.

White Russian is pinker than both Sandy and Samantha. Samantha is very nude with a beige undertone. Sandy is a bit closer, but is a little bit dustier and has a hint of peach that White Russian doesn't have. I have all 3, and I am in LOVE with White Russian. It is slightly more saturated in color, and the formula feels and looks creamier on the lips. Although it has no sparkle, it has a rich texture to it, that maybe could be described as a hint of frost? It definitely isn't the same finish as a normal matte gloss that is just sheer color. It is hard to explain, but it really is a different look. I think you need it!

It is in between, IMO. It is definitely not opaque like the full colors, but also isn't quite as sheer as the originals. It has a very creamy look and texture that makes more impact on your lips than just a sheer wash of color or sparkle. I think it has a hint of frost to it that keeps it from being a flat looking texture and brings the like to life. I am going to end up with a lot of these...

Like buxom polish.
Actually it is exactly, I mean exactly, like the buxom lip polish in tint. You know how buxom has subdivisions in the buxom polish line; diamond, polish, and they used to have one named tint? There were four colors, one of which was poppy, a red. These 'new' glosses are the tints with double the amount of colors. I am glad they did not do away with the colors of the tints, as it was a nice formula. Glad to see more colors. A little upset that they gave the tints a new name and called it new, even though all they did was add a few more colors and change the packaging a bit.

Scents, flavor of glosses the same?
I'm having a hard time decided on which color to pick, I don't want anything to bright and bold but then I don't want a plain clear type gloss. Just wondering if these have different scents or flavors that might help narrow my decision between white russian, mudslide, pinklady and creamsickle.

I don't know if they are supposed to have scents, but they smell like all the other buxom glosses to me. Cool, minty, and clean with a hint of vanilla. I have white russian, the clear one, Samantha, and Leslie. And they all smell the same.

I have white russian and love it. It has just enough pink in it to look light and very glossy without being too plain or dull. It tastes a little minty but very refreshing. These do not have different scents. They are minty with a hint of warm vanilla -- similar to the scent of the old Buxoms, but a little sweeter.

I only have tried White Russian so far, and wasn't expected to love it as much as I do! I have almost every shade of the original Buxoms, but I think I'm gonna need a lot more of these ones now. White Russian is a beautiful nude that is a soft ballet pink on the lips. It definitely shows up and isn't clear, but it is supposed to be a nude lip look. It definitely has enough saturation to tell there is something on your lips. I have been wearing it every day for a week straight and love it! I can't compare it to the other colors you are debating on though, unfortunately. But they are probably in my future!

Don't be fooled by the names, the scents are all the same (a slight minty scent). I can only speak on Mudslide and White Russian, which are both excellent colors on my skin ton (golden medium). Mudslide matches the color of my lips (think of a pinkish natural color) and White Russian is pink. They are both pigmented, so it is far from a clear gloss.

For me , the lip polish is very shiny and looks amazing but the wear time suffers for the glam time. I prefer the creams now it seems they revamped the formulas and it feels cool on the lips and you can feel it moisturizing. I spent a day at the mall and had lunch and shopped and still had tint on my lips and cool tingly sensation and was perfect moisturized.

I too am a huge fan of Buxom lip products--who doesn't want 'Big & Healthy' lips? The Buxom Lip Polish and Cream formula seems to be the same--the same tingly sensation, scent and overall results. I think they're nicely plumping and hydrating. I think the Polish and the Cream have about the same staying-power--I do wish they were longer lasting, but I'd rather reapply than have that drying quality those long lasting lip products tend to have.
The difference to me between these two Buxom lip products is the lip cream is more opaque, less sheer/shimmery looking and lends a nice creamy, even effect.

The lip creams are just as awesome, long lasting, tingly, and moisturizing as the original lip polishes, just without the glitter, which I'm really happy about. I wore the lip polishes pretty much all day, and really liked the Tints because they didn't have glitter, but the Tints must have been temporary because I can't find them anymore. So I'm super happy with the lip cream! I have Cherry Flip, its really bright and not sheer, so a little goes a long way.

I have the purple haze - and I have pretty fair skin, blond hair and not much color in my lips. So, that said, on me, the purple haze has a good bit of color, but after it's on a few minutes, it settles in and looks really pretty. I think it would be gorgeous with your coloring. Do you have pink undertones in your skin or yellow? Do you wear purples, blues and pinks in clothing? Or more earthy colors? That might help you know if the purple would work with your coloring.

The Pink Lady looks very bright on the wand but if you smooth it down with your finger after applying it, it is much less scary. It's even nice to put over a nude lipstick to add a pop of pink. All the darker shades (I have 4 of them) are a little scary when you see them on the wand but with a little rub on your lips they're beautiful.
