Questions & Answers for Algenist Firming & Lifting Eye Gel

Question
Can you use this eye product on the eye lids?
I know many eye products can only be used on the orbital eye area but some new ones can now be used 360-whole eye area including the eye LID. Is this OK on the lid? (other eye balm they make OK on lid ?)

Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Resist 24 says you can use it around the whole contour of the eye. That and their Bioperformance
eye cream I do use on my upper lids...not a lot...but I thought it was meant to go around the whole eye. I've never put any eye
product too close to my eyes. Definitely wouldn't want to get it in my eyes. I hope I haven't been doing it wrong.

ALthough I have seen others answer this questions stating "YES, they do use on the eylids" as well, I have heard from Algenist customer service that this is NOT meant for 360 use. I was told this is meant for the eye area contour, which is the under the eye outward to the "crows feet" region. Other treaetments that can be used on th lids, such as Joise Maran's argan oi, or her inifinity cream. Studies clinically proved argan oil decreses fine & course (deep) lines. I don;t knwo if it firms?? It is moisturizing which is key to youthful skin. WE all need to treat our lids, so I wish tis was for upper lids. I read someone had written Perricone's acyl glutathione is the only eyelid treaetment. I used that outstanding product (I know people LOVE it), but it badly burned my sensitive skin, leaving me w/ crepey skin after if finally healed. I have read fabulous reviews from Perrione's treatment if U do not have sensitive skin! : ) There was once a treatment for lids by "Brennen" but I have not seen it at Sephora lately? I hope this helps. I notice it say this product "LIFTS THE DELICATE SKIN "AROUND" THE EYES.....SO IT SOUNDS LIKE WE CAN USE 360 DEGREES? But as I said, someone from Algenist said it was not meant for lids. I not use it unless it says you can use on the lids. At 39, my once firm lids were damged by a treatment that was too strong for my lids (as mentioned above), & it was intended for eyelids! Hope this helps. SOrry so long, but I am hoping to prevent others to have a product damage their lis like mine were. Thx

This product is not for use on the eye lid. The only product that Sephora carries that is for eye lid use is Dr. Perricone's Acyl-glutathione eye lid serum. Give this a shot as it will transform your eyes!!!! It took 4- 5 years off my eyes in a matter of 3 weeks. You can also use this serum on the whole orbital area! It is amazing:)

I definitely use this product on my upper eyelids and around the entire eye area. I see the greatest benefit in the tightening of my otherwise puffy upper eyelids.

I use this product in conjunction with the Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm. For me, I've always used an eye cream after I apply a gel or serum under and above the eye area. The usage of both these eye products will give you amazing results! You won't regret using both.

I have used only this gel so far and it works extremely well. However, I just ordered the Algenist Eye Balm to see how it works, also. I'll use it by itself and with the Eye Gel as an experiment.

The gel is quite light and smooth -- a little goes a long way. But I also like to use another light moisturizer over it, especially at night, as I'm in the "above 50-age range" and the skin around my eyes tends to be dry. Experiment for yourself - but don't overdo. Too much gel plus moisturizer will cause eye liner to look smudgy.

Question
Is SPF needed with this product?
With the Algenist Firming & Lifting Serum for the face, one is supposed to use it only at night, and due to the retinol in it, one is supposed to use SPF over the face during the day because it makes the skin sensitive to the sun. Is this product supposed to be treated in the same way? It says it is to be used in both the AM and the PM. If SPF is needed with the eye gel, what would you recommend as an SPF day treatment for the eye area?

You should wear an SPF every day no matter what products you use. That is the best anti-aging product available. If you don't require a heavy moisturizer, I recommend the Algenist SPF lotion.

According to Algenist (I called them), this serum is gentle enough to use twice a day. I have not come across a sunscreen for the eye area (doesn't mean they don't exist), probably because sunscreens generally require ingredients too strong for the eye area. You should always wear quality sunglasses when outside.

Question
How long does this bottle last?
I bought this gel in their "Retinal Firming & Lifting Trio" and the bottle indicated it was 15ml. It lasted me maybe 6 weeks (most of the time just once a day), I was using one pump per eye, was that too much? or is this the expected life span of the bottle?

One tiny drop about the size of a pin head for each eye so the product should last at least three to four months.

A bottle usually last me three months. I don't believe that I press down completely on the "dropper." I probably press down half way. I have very dry skin so I use an eye cream on top. It is a serum.

I find 1 full pump to be plenty for both eyes. The little bottle that comes in the kits lasts me over a month. I use the tap, hold method to apply and LOVE the results. BTW, the retinol serum you bought is gentle enough to use under the eye.

It did wonders on my eyelid. I have very heavy eyelids and had lost quite a bit of weight which made them very droopy. I was very self conscience about them. This makes them look at least 5 years younger and uplifted. Works almost like primer my eyeliner goes on so smoothly. I didn't see as much difference on crows feet but so worth the price!

For me, it reduces puffiness on my eyelids. Is that the same as firming? I'm not sure. Sometimes creams that are advertised as firming actually seem to "pinch" my upper eyelid skin and make it look puffier and more lined. This gel does not do that to me. I'm very satisfied with this gel.

I did experience lifting of the skin above my eyelid. I can't say that my brow lifted noticeably, but i suppose it did for the skin under my brow to lift. I saw results in about a week and they remain lifted after 2 years of use. There aren't many products that I am this loyal too, but I try new things all the time and always go back to Algenist. I know they don't do animal testing but no idea about gluten.

I found that it did lift my sagging skin above my eyelid. I bought this on the same day I went to Sephora for help in changing the way I do eye shadow. The skin above my eyelid had drooped too much to do shadow as I have in the past. I experienced enough lift to go partially back to my old shadows. I really didn't like what they showed me as an alternative. I have been using this product for about 2 years. Just don't expect plastic surgery effects. I highly recommend this product.

The bottle is .5 fl. ounces (15 ml.), small -- but you only need a tiny amount for your eyes. It should last for a few months at least! I found that the gel is quite light and goes a long way.

Question
sensitivity to products
I have sensitive skin and I am considering ordering Algenist Firming and Lifting Cream and also Algenist firming and lifting eye gel. Is there any way to get a sample of these products to see if I will be able to use them? I have had numerous bad experiences in the past where I have purchased expensive products which irritate my skin and become unusable for me. I am looking for good products which will work without irritating my skin. Thanks so much! Your products sound very promising!

Go to your local Sephora store and ask for a sample of what you want to try. Right now I seem to be getting a number of Algenist samples in the mail from a variety of sources because they are making a big marketing push. But don't wait go and get a sample from Sephora, they're free.

Question
Will I be able to use Algenist Firming and Lifting Eye Gel on my sensitive skin?
I posed this question last week and got no reply. I am interested in this product for my eyes. I am also interested in the Algenist firming face cream. I have sensitive skin and am wondering whether I could get a small sample of each of these products to try them out. If they work for me and do not irritate (or burn) my skin, I fully intend to purchase these products. Any help you can give me would be much appreciated. My droopy eyelid and jawline really need a lift! Please help me out. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
