Too hard to tell colors from the web site Is there anywhere to see better swatches? When will Sephore have these in the store so I can actually try a color. I am returning the color I bought as it was too orange.

Early May 2012, I saw some in SOME stores in both Central California and Connecticut. Also, Karlasugar has good on arm & several lip swatches. (Just, be aware the color on the lip is usually not exactly like the container or skin swatch).

Natural and daytime, as in, pale pink putty or a nice bright pink, but not too over the top bright? The first I described would be #19, one of the palest of them all, Beige Aquarelle... I like #17 Encre Rose, because it is a slightly bright pink but it is definitely toned down enough so it doesn't look "TOO" harsh/loud...

I have auburn hair, gray/blue eyes, and very fair skin and the Rose Vinyl is my favorite shade to date. It is a natural rose color that compliments my coloring and is appropriate for daytime wear. You might try that one, it's beautiful.

I posted swatches in the ratings section that might help. I find 12 is a really pretty coral-berry-pink. 7 is more brown when it goes on, but shines pretty pink as it wears off. I'll post one of the swatches--look for my post to see the colors in different lighting as well. Personally I feel this swatch is more true to color under artificial light.

I have 15 and it's perfect. it looks a lot different when you put it on. the girl who helped me put it on with a lip brush which made it a different color than when I swip it on from the applicator. actually I like the Color from the applicator better. However, the gloss is more wet than shine.

My fair skin is particularly bright because of the Physician's Formula brightening powders I use (and the whiteners because of my PCOS). I love red lipstick because the golden age of Hollywood stars have influenced me since childhood- HOWEVER this doesn't work for everybody. So I'll recommend #9 Rouge Laque because it''s a solid red with light coral undertones, #11 Rouge Gouache because of the mauve undertones, and # 14 Fuchsia Dore because pink/lavender will make you appear less gaunt depending on your facial structure.

Online there was a beautiful redhead with your coloring who got #4 & 20. 4 was an absolute knockout on her. 20 was beautiful, but the berry-purple of 4 really brought her to that "movie star gorgeous" that you want from a $35 lip gloss.
I can't find the website now. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with a violet under tone. If you want a red--11 would be beautiful: its a great soft slight-blue/violet red.

No. 17 is a pretty bright pink. Hot pink comes to mind as a description. I have very fair skin and the color really pops. If you are looking for bright, it's a great color. If you aren't then another color would suit you better.

Question
I'm fair/light-skinned w/ pink undertones, green eyes, and hair that goes from light/medium blonde to medium brunette. Pretty pink and/or pinky-nude?
As I said, I want a true, pretty pink that would be flattering when I have darker hair, as well as a pinky-nude. If there's any color at all you guys think would be flattering when I'm lighter-haired or darker-haired in general, also, please let me know! Sephora.com is saying these are online only now, and I HATE playing the "send-back-5-times" game. :(

I would look at #15 Rose Vinyl. I love that color and whenever I suggest it to my clients (I work for Sephora), they almost always get it. I have fair-light skin with blueish-green eyes. My hair color is ALWAYS changing, so I can say that #15 is a great one to start with.

Pretty pink because a lighter skin allows you to pull off brighter colored pinks and reds, while the pinkish nude may wash you out.

if you put more pink on skin with pink undertones, you will look visibly more pink. I think you should go with a more neutral shade, a nude or a taupe shade, to try to bring some contrast t neutralize your coloring. :)

I am also very fair skinned and have green eyes. My hair color is medium brown, but occasionally changes to a darker brown. I have #29--Rose Forreau. I think it is a very nice subtle color, but you can tell you have color on your lips. I would recommend it as a nice addition of color without being too overwhelming.

the ysl gstain browns do not cover as well to me. i would say brun glace for deep coffee/ chocolate sauce color. caramel croisiere turns orange in 5 minutes. brun cashmere is mauvey brown, applies nicest. i like and own the rebel nudes naughty mauve. it is my only brown (didn't expect or want brown when i ordered it), i kept it. and i love love love because it isn't coffee colored and has a nice pink/purple shift of iridescence. actually my only good glossy stain surprise. the gstains are a tough animal to tame, but the right color and men swoon.

I haven't tried either color, but I would recommend #17. I have #5, 7, 17 and 20 and #17 is a beautiful cool medium pink. It looks super pastel-y on swatch, but on the lips it's the most wearable. I've been wearing it virtually every day since I received it.

I'm Asian with light complexion and when applied, #18 looks a lot like NARS Turkish Delight lip-gloss. The color is a soft, baby, powder pink. It's more milky than a juicy color...if that makes any sense. I tend to play up my eyes when I apply makeup, so this is a wonderful color to finish the look so my lips aren't competing with my eyes.
Hope this helps.

yes. try a lipstick formula without slip. cream based formulas will not allow the gstain to set. i love any long wear type lipstick, the rouge pur cuture if you are a loyalist. the holiday 2013 pur couture seem to match up great with some of the candier colored gstains. have hard time with matte formulas as base coat so far.

YSL recommends applying glossy stain to clean, dry lips. They do not work well over lip balm or lipstick. The textures don't mix we'll and the color will get gloppy and peel off the lips.

encre rose. and orange fusion(yellow orange) if applied one swipe is light and pretty. the rebel nude corals. rouge laque for good red. i am yellow/tan and find some don't work at all. 18 is almost undetectable on me along with 19. they are dead of winter shades tread light applying those two. i like rose vinyl when i'm not so tan. received many compliments for encre rose. be careful with corals they pull very orange on me, why i suggest the rebel nude ones. ysl has best lighter orange based corals on market imo. oh and i love love love pourpre preview , violine out of control with all the navy and grey this winter. seems all the fuchsia pull very bad pink on me that makes my skintone yuk. have yet to find a deep pink ysl that works. oh and if you like brown/gold shades for clothing/accessories try rose forreau it is awesome.
