Questions & Answers for Perricone MD Acyl-Glutathione Eye Lid Serum

Question
Where do you apply?
Although the description calls it 'eyelid' serum, do you apply the product all over? Like under the eye, on the outsides, on the lid, and on the brow bone?

You can use it on the entire orbital area:) The reason why it is called eye lid serum is because it is the only eye serum on the market that is safe for the actual eye lid area!

I apply this product first on my whole eyelid to my eyebrow, around my crows feet and then pat it under my eyes to help with dark circles. I use it first and then another eye moisturizer just on the crows feet and under the eyes to give me more moisture there.

I warm the product (1 pump on my left ring finger) and then rub my two ring fingers lightly together to distribute the serum over the pads of my finger and bring it to skin temp, then lightly massage it over my lids and brow bone, under my eyes to the nose and along the top of my cheek bones past the corners of my eyes almost to my hairline. A little goes all that way! I wait about 5-10 min., then dab on an eye crean. Expensive little ritual that I hope will turn into a worthwhile investment and not a costly mistake. I'm hopeful so far. And it was a Sephora employee who advised me to add the eye cream after using this serum.

Question
Does it make sense to use this AND Hi-Potency Eye Lift?
I bought the High-Potency Eye Lift a few days ago & really like it. Today, I was looking at more Perricone products while in the store (because I'm so impressed w/this brand now) and the Sephora employee tried this on me. WOW! LOVE! I told her I'll bring back the Eye Lift and get this but she said using both it fine. I'd rather not spend $115 AND $98...and THIS one I could feel working. Help!? :)

I too found myself in the same situation as you. A Perricone rep suggested doing both of them because I have hooded eyes and need all the lift I can get. I liked combining the two, it gave me better results than just one alone. I've even tried combining the eyelid serum with a few other Perricone treatments, but combining the eyelid serum with the HP Eye Lift Serum made more of a difference . Just remember to use a small amount of each one.

I work for Sephora also and only use Perricone's line for my skin care:) As this is only a serum you want to make sure that you are using an eye cream over top at night. You can use the one you are using as it is also amazing and the two combined will give you long term results. Myself, I use this and Cold Plasma eye over top at night and just the acyl glutathione eyelid serum during the day:) Welcome to the world of Perricone:) Glad to have you!!!

It works but like all peri one products it's overpriced. Caudalie and algenist also have eyelid serums that cost about $60 and work just as we'll if not better.

Less is more when it comes to high-tech lotions like these. If you find one makes more of an impact for your skin needs, let that product shine on its own. My opinion of course, but who wants to spend the extra money for an additional product that might not really supplement the other :)

Obviously you don't have to wear anything. But I use this product primarily for my lids and altho I do put a little under my eye, I also use both products under my eyes. If you are doing preventative or you have very little signs of aging, you might get away with just the one product, but I need both.

How long does the bottle last?
For those of you that use it either once or twice daily can you please tell me how long your bottle lasted?
Im interested in trying this but with the big price tag how often Id have to repurchase if a factor, some eye creams dont go as far.. such as skincuticals while others tend to last much longer.

I actually tested to see how long it would take for my lids to return to their normal pre acyl glutathione state and it was about 1-2 months. So the results are not permanent.... However, using this is far better than doing an eye lid lift!!!!

Question
Should I use with another eye cream? Would that negate the primer effect?
I got my bottle a few days ago. It says to follow with an eye treatment, but wouldn't this stop its primer effect? Can this be used a stand alone product or is there a reccomended cream to use in conjuction with this?

I use an additional eye moisturizer in the evenings, on top of this product. I believe this product works more like a serum, which as a general rule sinks in before another product. I don't use another product during the day because I don't wait to negate the primer benefit. Hope this helps.

Question
Eyelid PRIMER for Make-up?
I see in the description that Acyl-Glutathione Eye Lid Serum is an *EYELID PRIMER.* I see it as added benefits that eye make-up primers don't have. $115.00 is very expensive if it is a make-up primer. I'm also wondering since it is an eye make-up primer if it is to be applied AFTER eye moisturizer then applied on top of a moisturizer. There are many eye serums/moisturizers that would do what this product says, then apply a eye make-up primer for less than $115.00. I love Perricone products & use many of their skincare line. Thanks for any suggestions.

If you're just looking for a primer, I would skip this, it's way too expensive for just priming. This product is very good for lifting and firming and I suppose it would be a decent primer if you're in a pinch, but I use an additional primer before shadow. I actually use this, then eye cream, then primer. Hope this helps!

This product is beyond just an eyelid primer. It helps to tauten the loose skin of our lids as we age, decreases the lines in the lids, helps with under eye dark circles and does indeed help eye make up go on with less tugging.

This eye serum is fantastic!! It is used as a serum mainly and not a primer for makeup. It has the added benefit of being able to apply it to the lid area to assist in that "crepey" look that can happen over the years. I love it!! I would use it as a serum and follow it with an eye cream as a moisturizer, at least thats what I do and I think it packs an awesome 1-2 punch!!

I can tell you that even though Perricone is good, this particular serum didn't do anything for me, except keeping my eyes from getting less firm maybe. But it did not tone or make my eyes look better. I went back to a less expensive gel I like for firming and I found a fantastic shadow primer with anti-aging properties that work well with the gel - both, together cost less than this stuff. The description of this totally takes advantage of journalistic embellishment -- it exaggerates outrageously. Since I cannot name what I am using, loo or my review on eye shadow primers - I just posted it right before this (08.06.13) Good luck and don't waste your money on this. You'll still have to buy a primer for your shadow.

Question
Is this just as wonderful for those who rarely wear eyeshadow?
I'm pushing 45, have fine lines/wrinkles, dark circles and milia (bumps). I've yet to find an eye cream or treatment that truly impresses me. I'm very intrigued by the reviews, but wonder if this is more of a primer than an anti-ager. I rarely wear eyeshadow. I'm on a budget, but would pay if it's the miracle claimed. Is this product right for me?

I say definitely at least get a sample and try it out for yourself. I'm 21 and have had a extra fold/wrinkle in my left eyelid from years of improper makeup removal tearing away at it :( Sadly I've NEVER found something to work... but this took the fold away after ONE application. It smoothed it out and my eyelid folded like 5 years ago!

Get a sample hon and you won't be sorry ;)

Does acyl-glutathione eye lid serum help with under eye puffiness?

Acyl-Glutathione Eye does help with puffiness, although I'd note that the product's not built for that, per se. What's key is that the gel hydrates deeply and instantly (as well as over time) firms, minimizing the appearance of puffiness. If you're concerned with puffiness but also fine lines/wrinkles, expression lines, or discoloration, this should work for you quite well.
