If the ingredients listed above are correct, how can it be "oil free"? Petroleum , really?? I will not use it and I have no acne issues.
However, I have always had delicate skin and so, no petrol for me !

I have not had any problems with clogging pores. I was using the 3 step acne system and during this past winter my skin completely dried out to where it was flaking and uncomfortable. I switched with the 7 day scrub and use this and I have great results-- nice soft skin and no extra blemishes, actually less than when I was using the acne system.

I have combination skin and am prone to breakouts around my chin and forehead (even though I'm 41!) but since my skin is aging I needed a good moisturizer. I usually only apply it to my dryer areas and under-eye area, and I have not had any problems with breakouts. But I also use the Turnaround Concentrate (all over my face) underneath it, and I think that helps control my breakouts, too.

Yes, I use it as both. It works well under makeup. When I take my makeup off every night, I dab a bit on my cheeks, forehead and chin. Just a little and it goes a long way and my skin feels even softer in the morning.

Question
Does this clog pores? Does it cause break-outs? I am in desperate need for moisture to my face, but most products cause break-outs for me : (
I am 39 yo and I am on awful medications which literally changed my skin overnight. I can;t get off the meds, & they are honestly aging me by the day! I had flawless, firm, porcelain skin without any fine lines or wrinkles until last summer when I began to see progressive changes.I I now have extremey dry, sensitive, irritated bright red skin which breaks out easily when i try moisturizing treaments. I have tried the best moisturizers, serums, oils, etc, but nothing is working and I now have very deep wrinkles all over my face. I used to use several different top line preventaitve anti-aging products which were wonderful. Then one daya routine product I ised for years caused a bad burn on my face requiring medical treamtment. I thought it was a fluke thing, and when it happened a 2nd time, resulting in very deep wrinkles weeks later in the areas where I had the burn, I THEN REALIZED MEDICATIONS HAD CHANGED MY SKIN!?! Sadly, I have been told my new sensitive and crepe paper thin skin is irreversible. I have not since been able to find a product to moisturize my newly dried skin which always looks parched w/ patches of irritated dry skin. I did find a couple of moisturizing treatments which fianlly helped, but not so mcuh because I then woke up with awful acne and black heads alll over my face the following AM. Does it sound like this may help me? I need moisture, but nothing that will burn my skin or cause acne. I literally get clogged pores in minutes from some products. : ) I assume oil free does not mean non-comedogenic. Does anyone think this is worth trying with my given situation? Thank you so much!!

I have extremely sensitive skin and everything causes me to breakout. I use this in conjunction with Acne Free for Sensitive Skin ($20 at the drug store) and my skin has never been clearer or more moisturized. I will warn you to keep it off areas of your skin that don't really need it. My chin is fine after using the moisturizer Acne Free gives you, when I added this to my chin it did cause a couple pimples. But my nose and cheeks (the driest parts of my skin) have done fine with this regimen.

This product is non comedogenic and will not clog pores or cause breakouts, it is a gel cream that is best suited for oily skin types. You may want to try a slight patch test on your face first if you are worried about any possible reactions.

Dunno what melissa is talking about..this is definitely NOT a lightweight cream. It creates a film on the skin that's very noticeable. Not a bad thing at all, since that's the point of the product. It's probably fine for people with acne though, if you've also got a dry skin problem. Sometimes acne can be caused or exacerbated by dry skin so if that's your situation then this product is worth trying.

Most definately! I have combination skin that is both very dry and breaks out super easily. I had a few blemishes when I started using this, and not only have no new ones appeared, the existing ones went away quickly. I don't think it's designed to help with acne, but it is gentle enough to use without making existing breakouts worse!

Look for products that say "Gel' as those are water-based products -- meaning their main ingredient is water. Anything with the main ingredient being water will NOT cause you to break out like oil-based products (creams or lotions). For example, Clinique has their "Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion" = Oil-based WHEREAS their "Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel" = Water-based. This Gel is best for oily or acne-proned skin!

I would say its perfect for her skin, I am 22 and still get the occasional acne with hormone changes etc, this does not break my skin out if ur daughters skin gets flakey and hurts her face bad like it doesn't look chapped all over but definatley feels it this is perfect. I recommend u also buy her the moisture surge overnight mask I had really dry skin and used that before bedtime then wash it off in the morning it is amazing it had my skin moisturized over night, I stopped using these products for a week due to laziness and my skin got so dry and I noticed it was very dull, it makes ur skin so glowy bright. She will love them they are so worth it!

I have extremely dry skin, and always have, even as a teen. I think this would work well with a teen, because it is not at all greasy, but is very hydrating. Some people think it has a slightly unpleasant odor, but it wasn't anything that bothered me, and I am sensitive to scents. It is more of a gel type of moisturizer than a cream or lotion. Also, I break out with almost any product, in spite of my age and dry skin, and this did not cause any reactions or break outs. I have to avoid all products with SPF in it in order not to break out, so this hydrator is great for that purpose.

The original Moisture Surge is pink and a gel type consistency. The Intense is white (but looks pink due to the color of the jar) and more of a lotion consistency though it is still a little sticky like a gel. The intense is also, as you would expect, a stronger and longer lasting product.

this is a more intense version of the other one, it is truly targeted toward dry skin with minimum oil production because the finish is moist and sticky. the other one doesn't hydrate as much but it leaves an amzing matte finish.

I have used both. The Dramatically Different is more of a lotion, and the Moisture Surge is a gel. DD absorbs more quickly and smells nicer, but MS is more intensive. I would say use DD for your daily moisture needs, but if you get particularly dry skin (like I do in the winter) go for the MS. Hope that helps!
