Questions & Answers for Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Serum

Question
How to use this???
In the suggested usage it says to put this on AFTER the 3-step system. Does this mean it should be applied after your moisturizer?? Serums usually go on before and one reviewer states she applies it before her moisturizer. Just want to make sure I will use it correctly....

The 3-step should never be broken out of order. The facial soap loosens the dead skin cells, the clarifying lotion sweeps those dead skin cells away, and the dramatically different moisturizing lotion/gel restores the ph balance and moisturizes the top layer of the skin, it doesn't repair the moisture barrier under the skin. To repair the moisture barrier you would want a booster moisturizer, such as even better moisturizer, youth surge age decelerating moisturizer, superdefense age defense moisturizer. So you should put the serum under the booster moisturizer.

I use it after cleansing (I don't use a toner) and then I put my moisturizer (moisture surge) on my dry areas over it. I've had great results!

Most skincare brands instruct users to apply serums before moisturizer. Clinique is an exception. Clinique product instructions always tell you to use your 3-step routine first (cleanser, toner, moisturizer) then follow with serums and if necessary, an additional booster moisturizer.

So in answer to your question, Turnaround Concentrate is applied AFTER moisturizer.

Question
Would I be able to use this as a moisturizer itself?
I use murad acne kit, but im thinking about changing to clinique acne solutions, but most moisturizer that come with the kits are the worst product. Only because it seems to grease up my face to much.

Try the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing GEL, its great for acne prone skin and doesn't leave the skin feeling greasy. It's an oil-free moisturizer that strengthens the skin and has Silica in it to absorb any excess oil sitting on the skin.

My experience (and I have very oily skin) is that using no moisturizer makes skin more oily. Your body responds by having having oil glands produce more oil. This serum leaves my skin silky, but I follow up with a light-weight lotion/sunblock or tinted moisturizer. Hope this helps.

My grand daughter has used the Clinque Acne products and she loved it. She is older now and doesn't need the acne treatment. Worked well for her.

It depends. There is silicon in here so it already preps my face for foundation after I apply it and I don't use moisturizer. But I notice that skin becomes a bit dry (I am dry combination) so I usually use Clinique's dramatically different moisturizer after the serum and I don't get oily.

Question
Does anyone use this with Clinique's Clinical Dark Spot Corrector?
If so, do you notice a big difference than if you just use either one alone? Is one better than the other, or do they basically do the same thing?

Instead of using both the Clinique Dark Spot Corrector AND the Turnaround Revitalizing Serum, Clinique made a serum called "Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum" it's a serum that address's someone who wants the benefits of more than one serum. It will help with radiance and dark spots, as well as lifting/firming the skin and lines/wrinkles! It's an all-in-one serum.

I use both - this one at night and the dark spot corrector in the morning. I don't know if it's the combination, but my skin is better than it ever has been. I started just using the dark spot corrector and then added this in because my skin felt dull. Now it's bright, clear AND free of dark spots!

I have used both and I like this much better. Why? It just seems lighter and goes on better. I am not saying the other doesn't work, it is just how many products can you use before "overkill?"

Question
This or the Clinique Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturizer?
Hi,
I was thinking of purchasing this or the Clinique Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturizer. They seem to do the same thing, but I wanted to know which product works better?

Thanks!

This is a serum so it will not provide any moisture to the skin, but it will be that pure concentrate underneath your moisturizer (day and night) to help brighten and exfoliate dull skin. The Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturizer is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE product from Clinique, it is in between a cream and a gel that has slight exfoliation as well. The texture is my favorite part. It leaves my skin baby soft and ready for makeup in the morning.

I personally use both! This one is to be applied before moisturizer twice a day! They both have the same radiance boosting qualities but have different purposes! The serum goes more in depth in the skin while the moisturizer makes the top of your skin super radiant. Both are AMAZING products! Hope this helps!

Use anything with the Pore Refining Cream! Just be sure to give the pore refiner cream time to dry. I would suggest a full 2 minutes and on clean skin. Let that money you paid for, sink in and work!

I used Clinique's Turnaround Radiance Renewer (I don't remember for sure if that's its exact name) for several years and the item pictured looks exactly like what I used.

I can't remember why I stopped using it. It is an excellent product that does what it says it will do. I had noticeable results.

Have you asked someone at Sephora or contacted Clinique directly? You might try that if you really want to get to the bottom of it. Good luck!

Question
Change in formula?
Did anyone notice that this product change, or is it just me? I used it for years but the last 2 bottles....the texture has changed and I do not see results like I used to. Also, the older bottles say it was a serum to protect from free radicals, lines and would restore brightness. Now it just seems about radiance. Anyone have any info/thoughts? Thanks.

Yes. It will neither irritate your skin nor aggravate your acne. By helping with cell turnover it should help keep pores unplugged.

This serum is for anyone who is looking for more radiant glowy skin. It is also a chemical exfoliant that is going to dissolve some dead skin cells that sit on top of the face causing cell turnover to slow down.

But if you have rosaeca I would recommend seeing a dermatologist, I had the same exact problem. Dry skin, acne prone, and harsh rosacea; my dermatologist prescribed me pills and a topical cream and it cured me in less than a month. (But I stopped taking the pills after a week, I hate pills)

Yes, Clinique revamped their Turnaround line. The repackaged and renamed all of their products from this line. There is a slight difference between this Revitalizing serum and the Concentrate - the concentrate has 1% salicylic acid in it to exfoliate, whereas the new revitalizing serum only has .5% salicylic acid. With adding new products to the Turnaround line, such as a new radiance oil, watery lotion, and daytime moisturizer, Clinique did not want to over-exfoliate if somebody wanted to use the entire line together.
