Root Touch Ups

Hi,
I have always done salon color... but my colorist needs to book months in advance so want to try this product in the meantime. Right now my hair is a goldenish blonde (in need of serious toning) with light ash brown roots - I'm seriously hating it and want to brighten everything up and minimize the roots I'm currently sporting. Just wondering is this product will react OK with hair that's already been salon colored (including the combo of my untreated roots). I'm worried about it turning the roots red or orange after doing a bit of reading... I don't want my colorist to murder me when I go back to her. Please let me know what you think is my best route (if I should honestly tough it out and wait for the salon... I do already spend way too much $ in Sephora anyways :))

You can cover previously colored hair with LuxeBlend. Use Pequi OIl Treatment every day for 2 weeks prior to get your hair in great condition. Try the Light Brown- it is an ash tone that should cover both your existing color and your regrowth. Make sure to comb the color through and follow the color change directions (all over application). Then if you want to lighten it up, you can just get highlights at your salon.

I have decided to stop coloring my hair.

After coloring my hair for over 25 years, I made the decision to stop coloring it and let the gray show. To date, I think I like this 'new' color of gray. Are there any products I could use to help the gray shine and not become 'washed out' looking?

Do a weekly rinse with 1/2 cup cider vinegar mixed with 1 1/2 cups cold water. Pequi Oil Treatment is also great, as it adds softness and shine to even the most frizzy, wiry grey hair.

This is really a comment to people writing reviews. It would really help if you gave some important information such as:
1. What color is your natural hair?
2. What hair colour did you actually use?
3. Have you home colored or salon colored your hair previously?
4. When you've gone lighter have you had issues with reddish or brassy tones?
The reviews are so mixed, some really low and some great. It would be good if people would give more information. My hair is very dark blonde and I want to go lighter. It does have a tendency to turn red with non-salon coloring. Thanks.

I've used at-home hair color for years usually in light blond shades. I purchased this in light blond. My hair is blond with darker and gray rue growth at the roots. I used it twice- it came out a darker ash blond the first time and red the second time.

My hair is almost all gray/white in front and side; the rest remais all medium brown. At salon they did front/sides a very pale blond and lightened

the rest by applying product later on in the procedure. is this product appropriate to try to duplicate salon results, which were fantastic? Also the gray/white is very resistant.

Luxe Blend is an all over color, so it will not give you the highlighted effect you are describing. However, the light blonde is very light and multidimensional and may be worth a try if you want to do it at home for a change. You could still leave out your front pieces if you wanted to keep the gray.
