Question

I have some scaring on my face that I would like to fade fast so I was wondering if this would help me.

I had some scars (red marks) left over from an acne break out and after using it for about 3 weeks, they are about 75% gone. I'm confident with continued use they will go away completely. I'm not sure what kind of scars you have, but it worked with my leftover acne marks. If you try it, I hope it helps!

Question
Can it be used with retinol?
I've come to love using a pure retinol treatment at night followed by a moisturizer. Could I fit this night serum into that routine or replace the retinol with it every other night maybe?

I put this on after my tretinoin ointment which is similar maybe stronger than retinal and I've had no problem.

answer 2
Yes. There is nothing in this that would aggravate the skin or make it more sensitive to the sun. I use the night treatment which has retina-a with it and it is just fine.

Question
Does this smell strongly of lavender?
I have deluxe sample but I haven't tried it out because i am very sensitive to the scent of lavender, which is one of the ingredients. It gives me migraines, so I have avoided opening it.

No. It smells like barbecue sauce. Yes, that sounds crazy, but it's true - I had 3 people in my family sniff it and everyone thought it smelled like a pulled chicken sandwich, which is really strange when I'm smearing it on my face. :)

I haven't had any allergic reaction at all and I put it all over my skin, including around the eyes (and my skin is sensitive). I would say that this has general skin benefits, but definitely for the eyes too.

I doubt it. This product is geared toward cellular renewal, or gentle exfoliation/sloughing off, of dull/discolored epidermal skin--think age spots, scarring and hyperpigmentation from acne. It's a great product, though. Definitely works for the intended purpose.

YES! But you must be diligent about using it at night...I am terrible when it comes to a night skin regimen...but when I actually did...and used this serum...I woke up to brighter skin with finer lines. I really recommend this stuff...3 drops covers your whole face and most of your neck.

THIS PRODUCT IS NOT MEANT TO BE USED DURING THE DAY.I SAW LESLIE HERSELF ( CREATER OF BARE MINERALS) SAY THAT THIS IS ONLY A NIGHT TREATMENT. WHEN YOU SLEEP, YOUR SKIN REPAIRS ITSELF AND THAT IS WEHEN YOU USE THIS PRODUCT. IT IS NOT DESIGNED TOIBEUSED DURING THE DAY. I USE THIS AN DLOVE IT. I USE IT BEFORE BED AND I WAKE UP WITH SOFTER SKIN. MINE LASTS 2 MONTHS, BUT I ONLY USE BEFORE BED. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING DURING THE DAY SICNE IT IS NOT DESIGNED AS SUCH. OUR SKIN IS NOT IN REPAIR MODE DURING THE DAY. SMAE GOES FOR MOST RETINOLS AND OTHER EXCELLENT ANTI-AGING TREATMENTS. YOU ARE WASTING YOUR MONEY IF YOU USE IN THE AM AS WELL.

Anti aging products should start being used in your early 20. Operative word being ANTI aging. If you don't start now your skin won't be receiving the care it needs to combat our harsh external environment and the stress we put it through on a daily basis. There is no product out there that is going to reverse the process 100% so its best to take care now instead of stress about it later.

Question
Should I stop using, or will the breakout subside?
Received this as a Xmas gift and have used it 3 nights since; my skin is definitely more hydrated, but my forehead is badly broken out! I wonder whether this will subside (and is just a result of the cells are being regenerated or something)?

No, sometimes your skin will have an allergic reaction meaning this product just probably isn't for you. To confirm that it is caused by this product, wait until at least three weeks of continual use. That is when you will actually see the effect of the product and if it is breaking you out. If it is the. Try something else, like the marajacula oil from tarte. It is similar, in the same price range, and the packaging and amount of product is far better.

I'm not an expert by any means but I'd give this product and product like this at least a month if not two to do their job and mellow out before quitting it. I'd say that it's working and your skin needs to do its thing before you quit it. I love this product, though I did not experience the break out. I do, however, use exfoliating products so I may just be ahead in the game.

I don't break out, but a BM product (a night time exfoliation treatment which I recall cost $60...I am sorry I don't recall the name?) caused a terrible breakout for me, while the rest of the world seems to love it, as per reviews. To me, it looked like an acne breakout. Instead I was told it was contact dermatitis or an allergic reaction. I stopped that treatment ASAP, even though it was supposed t be great for my skin as a nightly treatment. I tried later on, and same thing happened. This oil U broke out form is nice, but its not the only one. I would not continue to use it if I broke out from it. I believe your skin is telling you it is not happy with it....maybe one of the special secret "active soil ingredients" does not agree with your skin....or perhaps it reacts with something else U are using? There are so many other wonderful products a Sephora U can try instead. How about Fresh Seaberry oil? JM Argan oil? Tarte's Maracuja oil? PTR Squalene "oil?" Some use the oils as serum, and some use them as a moisturizer. U can find on oil serum that is soothing to your skin. I am sorry U broke out, but don't worry...U can find another one that works for your skin. I try to listen to my skin, since I once cont' to use a product which gave me "breakout, " that later wound up burning my skin. (Long story) . I tried to tough it out, & I further hurt my skin in the end. But we all have different skin & issues. I would discontinue this product if it gave me a reaction.

Question
Is this product noncomedogenic?
I have very faint milia under my eyes and I read that noncomedogenic products help because they don't clog your pores and are without oils.

I believe this is noncomedegenic. I have very seonsitive skin and cannot tolerate products which clog pores. I breal out from almost every moisturizing product ui have come across, until this serum. THIS PRODUCT HAS NOT CAUSED ANY BREAK OUTS FOR ME THUS FAR, AND I JUST FINISHED MY FIRST BOTTLE. It is moistirizing, and non-pore clogging in my experience. As for millia, I have that too....tiny little bumps under my eyes. However, I have not used this serum near my eye area since it does not mention using it on the eye area anywhere that I have seen. I assume you can, but I am very selective as to what goes near that delicate skin surrounding the eyes (after badly burning my eye area with an anti-aging product made for the eyes). I can't tell you if it will not cause millia, but I can tell you that I have pores that literally become cloged from every single serum and moisturizer that I put near my chin area and my T-Zone....EXCEPT FOR THIS SERUM!! THIS DOES NOT CLOG MY PORES, AND IT DOES MOISTURIZE. IN THE AM MY SKIN IS SMOOTHER THAN EVER. I would call this non-comedogenic. I hope this helps you.
