My facial hair was the first to go actually. After the 4th treatment it just fell out of the follicle and it hasn't grown back. I don't think this laser is strong enough to stimulate dormant hair. All I know is that I used it on my upper lip and chin and now I'm hair-free. No new dormant hair growth either.

Despite what everyone is saying the FDA does not recommend using it on your face. "Unlike body hair, most of women's potential facial hair remains inactive and hidden, while only a fraction of it grows and surfaces. Exposing facial hair to the light pulses of Flash n Go may remove apparent hair but simultaneously stimulate unwanted growth of hidden hair."-fda guidelines

Absolutely! This new design is awesome for the face area! Especially the upper lip and chin areas. The instruction manual recommends to use it from the cheek bone down.

this vs the new remington device?
the new remington ipl home device gets twice as many "pulses" from each cartridge compared with the silkn sensepil device- hopefully this new silkn model will improve on the flashes/pulses that come with each cartridge? does anyone know how long these cartridge lights last?

I was referring to the Flash & Go...not the FaceFX! The FaceFX is a new product for Skin Rejuvination, not hair removal!

I am assuming your are referring to the Remington IPL5000 i-LIGHT. The flash & go offers permanent hair reduction, and the i-Light only temporarily stuns the follicle, suppressing hair growth for only up to three months. The FaceFX can also be used on the face, where as the i-Light cannot. Those are the two main differences.

Each cartridge has 1000 flashes,so just depends on what area of the body you're doing.
I was doing upper lip (4) and under arms (6), total of 10 pulses. One cartridge I was able to do the whole treatment, with pulses left over! Don't have to shave my underarms ever again!!

The DVD that comes with the device says that the cartridge lasts for 1000 flashes, which is approximately equivalent to one treatment session of both arms, both legs, and the bikini line.

i don't understand. "permanent removal", so by definition, you would use it for only once.... why would you buy it for household usage?

In addition to the answers above, hormone fluctuations will affect the hair growth and you may need touch ups. Similar to professional "permanent" hair laser removal treatments.

Results from this probably won't be completely permanent, you will have to keep occasionally using it. It is simply not strong enough for permanent hair removal

It takes multiple sessions to achieve permanent results. According to the DVD included with the product, it can take up to 18-24 months of sessions to obtain hair removal that is permanent.

there is no chart, and you cant. if you have the device it wont flash if the are you are dong is too dark. it doesnt work on tanned skin. sometimes it wont flash on my skin, but then ill turn a bright light on and itll work, so if your skin is lightly tan it will probably work.

Do you see any results after the first session? Do you still shave or wax the area until the more permanent results appear?
I'm interested in this primarily for the bikini line... and if I get it soon I might see the full results before I would be in the sun or tanning... but since it takes multiple sessions to work, can I use other hair removal methods in the meantime? And will I see any results after the first treatment or two?

It isn't until the second session that I noticed an apparent result. The first session barely made a difference for me. But it probably differ for everyone since the manual indicated that it takes up to 4 treatments for the result to 'begin' to show.

You can shave but do not wax. The hair follicle needs to be present in order for this to work. Waxing pulls out the follicle.

You have to shave the area to be treated before you treat because if you don't it will hurt like heck. You also shave in between treatments eventually the hair will fall out and when hairs grow back they will be finer and lighter then finally gone!

Is it painful to use?
I've had laser treatments in the past... When your doctor tells you that the treatment feels like a 'rubber band snapping against your skin', they greatly underestimate the pain factor. While everyone's tolerance is different, most of my friends agree that laser treatments are painful. How does this device compare with an in-house doctor visit? What's the pain factor? I'm a sheep when it comes to discomfort! Does this device actually work effectively?

in house laser treatments def do not feel like a rubber band ! this feels like they do, probably doesnt hurt as much. but you can use it on the lowest level if you cant handle it, the higher the level the more it hurts

I just got the Flash n' Go today and just finished using it on my legs and underarms. I've had professional laser sessions before and they didn't cause me much discomfort. I would say that this felt pretty equivalent to the office laser treatments. It really does feel like the snapping of a light rubber band. A couple of spots hurt a bit, but nothing unbearable at all. I was surprised that I would feel much of anything on the lowest setting!

I have aaaaaaaTRIA Hair Removal and if Flash & Go botha re same then how come there is so much difference in price.

The technology is the same for the Tria and the Flash&Go. They both can and do remove some hair permanently. The differences are first, the size of the applicator tip. The Tria's tip is about a quarter size of the Flash&Go's large tip so you can only really use the Tria on small areas since it will only cover 1 or 2 hair follicles at a time. The Flash&Go's larger tip makes it a lot easier and faster to treat large areas like your legs and arms. The second difference is the Flash&Go runs on replaceable cartridges while the Tria runs on a rechargeable battery.

this product is like all the rest, it is meant for light skin and dark hair. I have never used the tria, but im assuming the price difference is because of the size of the treatment area, and how long a cartridge lasts, etc.
