Yes, the gel is tinted. It's a very sheer gray color when it comes out of the jar, but does not have any noticeable color when applied to your face! I hope this helps.

Not if used correctly. Like most other moisturizers, must be massaged in completely or may leave a temporary tint ( 5 minutes at most).

It is a VERY sheer charcoal color that completely turns clear once absorbed. It leaves no black or gray residue and absorbs quickly - I actually appreciate the tint because it helps me use the right amount.

Yes, but only for a moment. As it's first appled the gel is black, but with each movement of your fingers rubbing it in, the colour disappears and only the cool breeze feeling remains.

When it comes out of the container it has an opaque black tint ot it...but when moisturized into your skin the black fades away. Even if you just brush it over your skin lightly and don't massage it in...it still fades away. You wont have any black on your skin from this moistruizer and it works great......especially since the charcoal absorbs oil and impurities while detoxifying....it's lke a spa treatment and mositurizer all in one. Besides if you try it and don't like it...just return it for free. I have a feeling once you try it you will not only be keeping it.....but raving about it to all of your friends. I will warn you push gently to release the gel....i pushed down really hard one time by accident and it shot up into the air, lol.

Question
how long does it last you?
hello my beauty sisters,
I have a question about how long the jar lasts you. I am on my third jar, and I am addicted, nothing works as good as this. But i do run out every 2 weeks while only using one pump a day. Similar experience, anyone?

Always remember a little does get you a long way. I only use about half a pump every morning and night. One jar can last me about a good month and a half. Who knows maybe Boscia will release a larger size? Until then monitor the amount of portions you use for your face to really make that jar last longer.

I have noticed this too. I use about a half pump twice daily and run out about every 2.5 - 3 weeks. My first jar I made the mistake of using it more frequently as I was experiencing really dry skin (beginning of winter), and I got about a week and a half out of it :( Definitely have to pace yourself with it!

I've been using my jar for about 4 weeks now (and still have some left). I scaled back on the how much I was using to about 1/2-3/4 of a pump as I thought the full pump was giving too much product.

I use this both day and night and is so flexible based on your needs. If you like light hydration in the morning before makeup and heavier at night I'd wear it only in the morning. However, I don't like anything heavy at night so I use this both AM & PM. If you are looking for something with SPF during the day, I'd use it only in the morning. My foundation has SPF so It's not something I'm worried about!

Question
Is it a good substitute for a moisturizer?
Can you use this as a primary moisturizer, or is it more of a treatment? Since winter is coming up I usually switch to a more hydrating face lotion, and am wondering if this will do the trick (my skin is primarily oily/combo but in the winter is drier - still oily in t-zone though).

I have combination skin and I use this as a treatment. It gives you a little glow, but not enough moisture to skip moisturizer all together. I have been using a mattifying lotion with SPF. The combination of both makes me look all "glowy"

I like to use it more at night when your skin produces a lot of sebum. I prefer another moisturizer during the day, especially in winter. Well moisturized skin in combination with a makeup primer holds make-up more effectively. Remember to find one with SPF.

I've used this as a regular moisturizer and it's worked well for me. That might not be the case for everyone, but from the moisture I got from the product, I'd say it would be a common occurrence.

I would definitely try the product before buying, if you can. However, I have not reacted negatively to the product and it works with my oily skin. I am not sure how intensive this moisturization will be for your needs, as it works more to clarify.

Almost all boscia products work on all skin types. But if your skin is pretty oily like mine, this product or the oil free lotions also by boscia will work for you. The restorative line would be too rich for oily skin, even mature. If I were you I would give it a try!

It is okay as long as you have a good primer. I prefer other Boscia products that have SPF. A good primer to use in combination is the Boscia T-Zone treatment. Allows you to use less powder. The lesser amount of makeup, generally, is one of the steps to better skin.

Yes! I use it underneath my Laura Mercier primer and tinted moisturizer and it makes a huge difference. It helps keep my skin from getting really oily and it helps reduce my pore visibility (over time). The cooling sensation helps close your pores, which is great before putting any makeup on. I use it daily, even if I don't plan on wearing makeup.

From what I understand, we have the same skin. For me, the product barely moisturized, especially this season (winter), and it did make me break out pretty bad. I had red bumps all over my forehead and jawline but once I stopped using, they practically went away on their own. I hope this helps!

I don't think this will be good for drier winter skin. Since you have breakouts, I would recommend Murad's Skin Perfector, which is oil free but more emolient. Try a sample at your local Sephora, if possible.

Feels great on your skin but perhaps not enough glycolic acid to reduce acne marks and refine skin texture. Unfortunately, Sephora does not sell a glycolic based product ( I feel ) as effective as GlyMed. GlyMed face wash can make your skin more sensitive for awhile. They have a follow-up moisturizer as well that contains glycolic acid. However, I feel that using both in combination is too harsh. Instead, I use this product afterwards. I do alternate between GlyMed face wash and Boscia Purifying Gel face wash. As a side note, GlyMed can be bought online at http://www.skin-one.com/glymed.html?_s_ref=08kzK9j9S&kw=glymed&creative=8946619634.
Good Luck!

I don't consider my skin sensitive but when I first put this on my face I got a burning sensation. The burning sensation went away after five minutes or so and is replaced by a cooling sensation (fire & ice??). I recommend trying it out first before you get it in full size.

i would get a sample and try it for about a week if you can. this gel has ingredients that cause a "cooling sensation" that may actually irritate your skin. i had this for about two weeks and then after my skin became more sensitive from the dry weather, the cooling ingredients started to sting when i applied just a little bit.
