It's not necessary, but b/c I have reactive skin, I do usually pat a damp, cool washcloth over my face about five or ten minutes after application. This seems to work well for me.

I do not rinse after use. I wash my face and instead of applying toner I will use a pad. Then I apply an anti aging serum from Philosophy.

I use it 2 to 3 times per week. Because I have reactive skin, I pat a washcloth dampened with cool water over my face about five or ten minutes after using it. This system works well for me, and makes the product one of my favorites.

I use it every other day without it drying out my skin, it's pretty gentle. But, you probably just have to see what works for you- use it less often if it's irritating!

It says 'twice weekly' on the container - it doesn't dry me out at all so I tend to use more like every other day & have no problems... I also cut the pads in half to make them last longer since they are kind of expensive.

I use this at night so I can let it settle without any makeup or other skin products [I also skip moisturizer except under my eyes] and do its work overnight. Remember to follow package warning about sun sensitivity and wear sunscreen during the day.

Either day or night - only it makes your skin more sensitive to the sun so I exclusively use it at night.

Should this be followed by serum and moisturizer? If so, should you wait a certain amount of time before applying anything else?

My usual procedure is to wash with a gentle cleanser, then use one of the pads, wiping it gently across & around my face - giving particular attention to fine lines & "crows' feet" - until the pad feels dry (this usually takes several minutes, because the jar has a generous amount of the peel liquid). I wait a minute until the liquid dries, then apply a nighttime moisturizer/cream. I do NOT rinse the peel product off. However, everybody's skin is different, so you'd need to see what works best for you.

In my personal experience, I wash my face, then wipe these on my face. Then any serum, and then moisturizer. But only use these 2x max. You don't want to over whelm your skin!

Yes, you can follow this up with a serum so that the potent ingredients will absorb best onto your healthy skin cells and not the dead, damaged or discolored ones.

I think you may run the risk of irritating your skin if you use a toner after the peel depending on what you use. Honestly, I don't use a toner when I use this peel, but if you really need it, then it would be best before.

I'm 65 & have started to see some age spots - but not many. This is not a bleaching product. What it mainly does is remove dry, flaky, patchy areas.

I use these pads 2-3 times a week. After the liquid dries, I apply a nighttime moisturizer. I do not rinse the peeling liquid off first. I have dry, somewhat sensitive "mature" skin & have not seen any irritation - if anything, my skin just looks smoother & has more of a glow. But everyone's skin is different - if similar products have irritated your skin in the past, I'd suggest you splash on a little cool water & then use your usual moisturizer/night cream.

When I purchased this product, the girl who helped me told me there was no need to rinse or remove this product after you apply it. So its not one that you apply, leave on for a certain amount of time, and then take off. I usually apply lotion after I use this. Its not a very strong peel, it works more as an exfoliator. The package recommends using it 2x a week, though you could probably use it more often if you don't have sensitive skin. It brightens and exfoliates the skin overall, but its not a very strong product.

Unfortunately salicylic acid even though the origins packaging is misleading with the "fruit acids" claim. I was totally fooled!

answer 2
Fruit & grain juice extracts (which contain natural hydroxy acids) and willow bark (natural salicylic acid) start to appear about a third of the way down the ingredients list. A smaller amount of additional Salicylic Acid is also added, as is caffeine. Both appear about two-thirds of the way down the list. As a peel, this formula is fairly mild (I used it more as a serum-type product myself), but you still probably want to check with your OB to make sure it's okay.

I have only minor acne scarring, but I'd say yes - the smoothing effects tended to reduce the appearance of skin imperfections and texture inconsistencies of all kinds across my face. It's primarily a toning and brightening treatment, however, so if you have more intensive acne scarring I might recommend following up with a smoothing primer before makeup.
