Question
sensitive skin using origins renewal cream?
I was wondering since I have trouble finding any kind of moisturizer that will irritate my skin or cause break outs, is this a problem for any people who have purchased this product? I've been looking everywhere for something that will work! Thank you!

I'm not sure if this cream would work or not. If you can get some samples or go into a store, I would do that before spending the money. If you have sensitive skin, you might try Origins Mega Mushroom skincare line by Dr. Weil. I'm using the eye serum and find it very soothing. My best friend has rosacea with oily skin and I plan on having her try this line out. Hope this helps.

I have extremely sensitive skin (gets red and blotchy just from washing my face) but this cream has been amazing. Seriously. I have had horrible, lasting reaction to Olay and Estee Lauder's renewal night creams. This one is completely different. I wake up with smoother skin, no breakouts, no rashes, and slightly glow-y cheeks. It's way better for me than the Dr. Weil Nighttime Cream or Mega-Mushroom.

This broke me out and I returned it, but it might have been the vitamin E, which I am allergic to. I got red bumps on one cheek. The woman in the Origins store told me to stick with it because it was probably working, but I returned it. When I break out from a product it usually takes weeks for the bumps (or whatever) to go away. Maybe I should have followed her advice. The great thing about Sephora is that you have nothing to lose by buying something since you can return it if necessary.

Question
can I use this as a morning moisturizer?
this product sounds amazing! I have quite sensitive, acne prone skin ( Ie i can't use korrez line wild rose because of the fragrant it cases me 2 break out) I am looking for a suitable day time moisturizer, but my skin is very very sensitive, and breaks out a lot with creams, is this cream for me? and can you use it as a morning moisturizer?"

I use it under my daily moisturizer and I see major improvements. I do not think it is heavy at all. So, you should just get a sample and try a small amount on your face if you have oily skin.

I definitely would not use this as a morning moisturizer, particularly if you have oily skin. I would try the oil-free type at night first and then maybe some of the other products for day. They have some nice options for oily/combo skin. The Mega Mushroom products are great for sensitivity but I'm not sure about acne. If you can go to an Origins or Sephora store and try the product out, it's worth the trip. I actually learned how to put the morning moisturizer on and the powder right after it to have a more flawless look. I can't believe how much that helped.

you definately can but i will warn you that the scent is kind of strong, but it is a citrusy and pleasant smell that relaxes you. However, if you have some issues with scent and allergies maybe try something else!

I wouldn't use it as a morning moisturizer. It might be too thick for that on oily skin. Try Dr. Hauschka. It is holistic natural skincare line with great products for acne prone or oily skin. I would also try Dr. Murad.

It states the product is a night cream and I would only recommend using it as such since I believe the product works best while you sleep. Of course, no one is going to stop you from using it as a day cream or however you want to use it but it may or may not produce the same results it claims to if you don't follow how it's meant to be used.

I use it daily with a retinoid treatment with no problem whatever. I always suggest going instore if possible with skin care purchases and ask for a take home sample. They are great about giving you just enough to be sure you aren't investing in a product that may irritate. No ones skin is alike so what works on mine may irritate yours. So try first. But there shouldn't be any contraindications between the two.

Does this cream sink into the skin or does it stay on top oily . Some creams I have put on are still on the surface when I wake up. It makes me feel it didn't go in the skin and work. Plus it gets all over the sheets.

answer 2
If you're experiencing excessive oiliness you might want to look for a "lotion" which usually indicates that the product is oil-free or not oil-based. If your skin is dehydrated and needs to "drink", the right product will absorb quickly and beautifully. Have you tried Oiless Oil from Peter Thomas Roth? It's fantastic.

Question
I see people reviewing the oil-free high potency night a mins. However, I do not see an option for oil free.
Where can I find these Origin wonder products in oil free? I see a few products claiming oil free but not many of the night moisturizers. My skin is combination... very oily T-zone and mid 30s aging is a concern as well.

They do make two versions, one of them oil-free. I am late 30's and originally thought myself oily/normal but the older I get, the more I think I'm going to dry/normal especially during the winter. If you have an Origins or Sephora store near you, I would go in and let them try it out on you. After I bought this, I went to an Origins store and found it extremely helpful.

I've wondered the same thing - I've never seen an oil free version on Sephora, so I'm not sure where people are getting the "oil free" from. I have combination skin with a super oily t-zone and I use this anyway - it's made a huge difference in my skin! My t-zone is no longer nearly as oily and this has never caused me to breakout. My cheeks and chin tend to be dry and this has restored moisture to them and generally smoothed out the entire texture of my face. I used to use oil free products as a rule because I was afraid of adding more oil, but I discovered recently that (for my skin, at least - your mileage may vary) this was making me even oilier! I've slowly been introducing moisturizers with oil back in and I've seen a big reduction in sebum and breakouts. Like I said, everyone is different and your experience might be totally different than mine - but I would definitely give this night cream a chance. If it doesn't work, you can always return it!

My chin area is very prone to acne, and I slather it on as heavily as I do the rest of my face. I've actually noticed fewer breakouts! It's probably due to the fact that my chin is dry and flaky most of the time, though.

day use
Does anyone use this as a daytime moisturizer? If so, how does foundation go on, either powder minerals or liquid? I am 58, with no oil left in my skin, and love this for night use. I'd love to use it during the day as well. I am currently using Starting Over Oil-free. Anyone??

Sounds like your skin is a bit like mine, thirsty! I use it daily AND nightly. It goes great under makeup, but you must wait at least 20 min for it to sink in before applying foundation. Only downside to using for daytime is there is no SPF in the product! So be sure to wear a BB cream or foundation with SPF.

I would not use as a day cream. I use Starting Over regular for my day cream and love it. The Origins girl taught me how to put it on and buff the powder in before the moisturizer dries. It covers like foundation but without the lines. Awesome, awesome products.

Hi there! I actually use it as a daycream right now, too. It is winter here, and my skin drinks it up like nothing else. I spray a bit of toner on my face (just a spritz or too so my skin isn't "wet"), then apply a smaller dab of the cream on my skin than I would at night. Experiment with it. I apply my foundation right afterwards, and it's been going on smoothly and evenly. Good luck!

I've used this a couple of times for a day lotion and found no problem with it. I add in my StriVectin SPF 30 into it to give it sun protection and I'm out the door. If you find that it's not too heavy or too thick when you use it for night then you should have no issues with using it in the day.
