Question
dries out hair???
does it agitate hair enough while acheiving a fuller effect to the point where
it dries it, especially the ends, to the point of straw-like texture, like a lot of
thickening hairsprays do

I use this and the restore line on my colored, dry, brittle, thin, limp, thinning hair and they both hydrate and make your hair more soft and manageable without drying it out.

I didn't find that it dried out my hair- but without the conditioner- it would have I think. The shampoo didn't knock me out- although it does take away product buildup which will rough up hair a bit anyways. the conditioner is a savior.

Didn't get that effect with these products. Additional texture, but not really coarseness or frizziness.

I didn't think so. Using all products together never made my hair or scalp dry. I thought my hair felt really soft & looked shiny root to tip.

No, but you won't need to wash your hair as frequently. They do have a deep conditioner called Restore, which I like to use once per week. My objection to volumizing shampoos has always been the dryness issue. This product is wonderful.

Question
Will it make my hair rough?
Bumble and Bumble Thicken Up thickening shampoo and conditioner make my hair really rough, i guess it makes my hair fuller. I haven't used it for long because of for long because it makes my hair so....ech. Seriously, my boyfriend who loves running his hands through my hair was like "....What happened to your hair? Does clorine do that or something....?" I was just like grrr. I have fine, long, red hair. So my question is, will this kit make my hair all rough and stiff like other thickening products?

This product, like the restore line, leaves hair soft and shiny but also thicker and fuller looking. It doesn't dry it out or leave it frizzy but yes, chlorine will dry your hair out. Put tressemme conditioner in your wet or dry hair before swimming and it will help protect it from the chlorine as it is heavy in wax and then wash out when you get out of the pool.

Didn't get that effect with these products, although I'm sure that depends on what type of hair you start with. Added texture did not result in coarseness or frizziness. But then again, I didn't get earth-shatteringly thick or full hair with these. These aren't miracle workers, just a bit of oomph.

For any thickening product to work you're hair is going to feel a little different, that's what holds the hair up. This product does feel a little rough but I don't think its too bad.

This product is so much better than Bumble and Bumble Thickening. Bumble and Bumble left my hair very dry, not shiny and bouncy like Living Proof does. My fine hair actually looks healthy!

my hair is dry, limp, thin, color treated...i was afraid it would be agitated, rough, coarse, even more dried out like other products left it when they claimed they'd thicken, make fuller thin hair....i could feel the difference even after rinsing out the shampoo, and then the conditioner...like silk...proof enough for me...the rest is history!

Hair Care products
Please advise of the best hair care products for my fine, thin, color treated hair. Looking for products that will give me volume and not fade my color. Interested in ALL product recommendations....I love products! Interested in a hairspray that is "workable", never sticky or "hard". Thanks

I use the restore and full line for my colored, dry, brittle, thinning, fine, limp hair and they work great. Just make sure not to use too much of the leave in products or they can make your hair look stringy and gummy. I have found a dime to quarter size of all the items works well.

Try Full Discovery Kit...I got it on sale for $29.99 WELL worth the price. I had heavy, combination hair that had been color-treated and permed recently...it just hung there, couldn't do a thing with it and this stuff did wonders...LOVED it...hope it works for you! :)

The description of your hair sounds like mine. So far, I've had the best results with the Bumble & Bumble thickening product line. It has worked better for me than the Living proof products.

I have thin, fine, color treated hair also. I am very pleased with the Phyto brand and I also use Bamboo brand Kendi Oil. I put a few drops on my hair about 10 min. before shampooing. My hair stylist whom I've had for over 20 yrs. told me last week that my hair has never been in this good condition.

Also I was told not to wash my hair daily. I've been using Phyto brand and washing hair 2 or 3 times weekly--big improvement. I really like the free samples that's how I discovered Phyto and Kendi Oil.

I don't know why I tried the Living Proof System and even paid for it; I went right back to Phyto.

I rely on my hair stylist for hairspray and lately we've both been pleased with Kendra volume spray. I buy it from her.

I also have fine, highlighted hair. The Full products by Living Proof are great. I love the way my hair feels with the shampoo, conditioner, root lifter, and cream. You only need a little bit, so it's worth the price.

I am a big fan of Kerastase BAIN VOLUMACTIVE shampoo and conditioner (not sold at Sephora) - its pricey but lasts for months due to how little you need to use (its very concentrated). As a finishing product, I use Bumble and Bumble's Hair Powder - spray a little at your roots around the crown of your head and back comb for volume that lasts all day!

Question
I have purchased the Full Discovery Kit and love it. My hair is fine and limp without product. I would like advice on the hairspray to use.
I like a fairly firm hold. I usually use Big Sexy Hair by another brand.

i had the living proof hairspray at one time, and while it worked great, it was too expensive for me...it didn't dry my hair out at all, kept the firm hold i wanted.
i use big and sexy because it is somewhat cheaper, holds well, thickens, but definitely dries my hair out big time. if you can, try the spray in the store, just a snip, see how it works for you!!

I use the restore and the full line and love them both. I also use a spray that's made with sea salt as that will help make hair look fuller but it can be very drying. There are also full mousse and spray in the living proof full line that works great also for my fine, thinning, limp hair.
