Yes, it definitely has a matte finish (as advertised) and tends to dull the hair.

If you want a dry shampoo that will leave you with a shiny head of hair, this probably isn't for you. The finish is pretty matte.

Yes, it's a powder so it will block some shine, but used just at the roots for volume, you shouldn't notice it throughout the hair where most people want shine. Just direct the spray at your roots!!

It does have a bit of a dulling effect, but nothing I haven't been able to mask with a little shine spray. Alterna and frederic fekkai make nice ones for thin, fine hair.

You will certainly get the volume and structure you're after, but the finish will be a rather matte finish. Also, this will depend on how much you use. You may still get the shine you want if you use less of the Sachajuan Volume.

It does dull the hair a bit, but only at the crown. I counteract it by spraying Sea Salt spray into my palms and carefully selecting areas to apply it to.

answer 7
If you're using it as a dry shampoo, it does slightly dull your hair, but then again, your hair is probably oily and greasy. It doesn't make your hair dull to the point where it looks dry and dead, by no means, but it does slightly dull it because of the powder (the powder is white).

Question
Transfer?
I read the B&B colored spray powder reviews and everyone said it got on their pillowcase, sink, floor & that it was just too messy. Does this seem messy and way too transferable to you?

answer 2
I use the original powder (not the dark) on my hair and my clients hair. The spray is fine enough that unless you use too much, you won't see it. If you are worried about transfer with the dark spray, I would recommend trying the light spray first, to see if that works for you.

I find the spray to be very messy. I wish they would go back to the dry powder they marketed several years ago. Everyone loved it.

Once I put this in my hair, I don't notice the product at all. I just notice the (positive) effects it has on my hair. I have dark pillows, but as far as I can tell, this product is colorless.

I don't know where that is, but if there's a Sephora store there, you will certainly be able to buy Sachajuan Volume Powder. If they don't have it in, they will make sure they get it for you.

Question
This product is great, but is it safe for color treated hair?
I have fine, thin, color treated hair. Plus, I have 3 cowlicks in my crown. They are an absolute nightmare to deal with. I don't have enough hair to cover them. I have bought so many products with the promise they will give me body. None of them have lived up to their promise, but WOW, what a pleasant surprise I got when I bought this product. It gives me volume, just like it says it will do. I'm able to cover up my 3 cowlicks. This is the best product I have ever used. I do have color treated hair, so I'm wondering if this wonderful product will strip the color. If it doesn't strip my color, then I have to say this is a perfect product.

Off the top of my head as a stylist I can't see any reason why a spray on powder would ever strip your color. Your biggest concerns as far as color goes are what temperature what you are using when you wash, the proper thermal settings on your hot-tools, and using color-safe, high quality shampoo/conditioner. The lighter powder will dull your shine and mute your color a bit if you spray too much in one spot, but brushing it through should help with that.
