It's retractable so you can just twist it up.

It is mechanical. No sharpening needed, but it does come with a built-in plastic point sharpener on the end.

Hi Pmelaaa, this pencil is a twist-up, retractable eye liner. You do not need to sharpen it.

i use this on my waterline and it stays better than any other eyeliner that i have tried. that said, it is super dry which makes it uncomfortable and difficult to apply to the waterline.

Its too dry. If you read the reviews you'll see we all agree. Not a good liner. Stick to the other Dior waterproof eyeliner, works wonderful!
