Question
Does this *really* work with lipstick?
Products like this always make it impossible for me to wear lipstick. If I apply the plumping product first, the lipstick doesn't apply well and/or it comes off quickly. If I apply the lip plumper *over* the lipstick, it either doesn't work, or it changes the texture of the lipstick and causes it to wear off very quickly (or both).
I want a good lip plumper but I don't want to have to choose between wearing lip color or having (slightly) fuller lips.
Does this one really legitimately work when applied over (or under) lipstick? Thanks in advance for any insight! :-)

Since the plumping effect lasts for a solid four hours, I put the plumper on right after I wash my face, let it do it's thing and then put lipstick on over it as I'm walking out the door. I get the plumped effect without my lipstick disappearing. Then, if I need to, I reapply the plumper after work for a little boost.

I had no plumping whatsoever from this product but many reviewers love it. Don't know why it didn't work for me.You might try this brands plumping lip gloss if you want some color, maybe that one will work for you.

Try the sexy Mother Pucker plumping lip stains. They provide great plumping, come in fabulous colors, stay put once applied, and taste and smell awesome. Otherwise, I suggest you use this or another good lip treatment at night before bed. Apply another light coat in the morning before applying your make-up. Gently blot the excess off before applying a good quality lip stick and set your color with a light dusting of translucent powder.

It works well both over AND under lipsticks/balms/glosses but better if worn under them. Hope this helps :)

Because of the plumping ingredients in this gloss, it needs to be able to have direct contact with your lips. If you choose to wear lipstick with it, I definitely suggest applying it on top of the gloss. I like to apply the gloss and wait for it to plump up, and then put on my lipstick. For me, this doesn't stop the plumping process and it also makes my lip color last. Hope I could help!

I've found that it still works over lipstick, but it does not work as well. If you want maximum results, you gotta use bare lips. However, I've found that if you put lip liner on in lieu of lipstick, it works just as well as it would on bare lips. So, the lip liner will give you the color you want, but you can still get plump lips.

I have done both and I like it after you are ready and set. I did my liner first, then lipstick and then dab a bit of this in middle of my bottom lip, then in the middle of my top lip. You could do it all over, whatever works for you but just know, this product works.

WIth plumpers, what I do is apply the plumper first and let it do it's job for a few minutes. Once I have my desired full lip, I wipe off the plumper and apply my lip pencil and lipstick.
