I asked a Sephora rep the same question. She said it is pretty much just what the product uses as an exfoliate. Scrub em... uses sea salt. They are little pink beads. Flake Away uses sugar. Personally I like Scrub em and Leave em. My skin is so soft after and it smells amazing!
I own both of those products. The Flake Away body polish is supposed to be applied after wetting your skin. The Scrub 'em and Leave 'em Body Buff is supposed to be applied dry and rubbed into your skin before letting the water run. Also, the body buff has larger granules and little beads in it and leaves an oily-like residue, but when you wash it with water, it rinses away nicely and leaves your skin super smooth. Also, the body polish has this amazing grapeseed peach scent. The body buff has a pleasant clean scent too, but I'm not sure how to describe it. Overall, I definitely prefer and recommend the body polish. You won't be disappointed!

Scrub Em' and Leave Em' is more of a true scrub to me, very exfoliant that you're gonna want to moisturize after. -salt based
Flake Away has a think paste consistence with a lot of Shea butter, so more moisturizing than the other - to me it wasn't very exfoliant. -sugar and salt based

The main difference is fragrance. FLAKE AWAY has our signature PINK scent, while SCRUB EM AND LEAVE EM has our MIST YOU MADLY scent. Also setting them apart, FLAKE AWAY is a sugar and salt scrub, and SCRUB EM AND LEAVE EM is a salt scrub. Either way your dead skin cells don't stand a chance!
