Questions & Answers for Phyto Phytokeratine Repairing Serum For Damaged Lengths And Ends

Question
Will long-term use of this product dry out my hair?
I was at Sephora and the sales person told me that I shouldn't use this product everyday because the proteins will dry out my hair. Has anyone heard anything about using products with proteins?

I am a hair stylist. This product does not contain high enough amounts to cause hair to become brittle. This used to happen long ago when more harsh protein compounds were used in high doses in hair products. Everything Phyto makes is plant based and this is perfectly fine to use daily. I have very fine, thin, color treated hair and I use this every day and my hair has never been better.

I never heard of that before. I've been using this product everyday for at least three months, and my hair seems to only be softer. I've had 'straw' hair from getting highlights, and this keeps my hair seeming more 'normal' again.

As a hair dresser, you need to have a balance of protein and moisture. As long as you have a balance of the two, you will be fine.

You could give it a try if your hair likes proteins, but I wouldn't hold my breath. It WILL NOT repair split ends, nothing will. Personally, I'd just pick up a jar of coconut oil and use that instead...put a bit on your dry ends, leave it in overnight (or longer if you can stand it) then wash it out in the morning. Coconut oil is one of the few that can actually penetrate your hair to moisturize it instead of just coating your hair and preventing it from drying out more (while also preventing moisture from getting in).

Question
Is this product line also good for tangly fine hair?
I just moved to Austin and the climate is causing my hair to be tangled. I've tried numerous new hair product lines and nothing is working. I'm used to soft water so when I try nori suing shampoos or heavy conditioners, it is too heavy for my fine hair and makes it limp as well as makes my scalp itch. Before I invest more $, I'm interested in your comments.

You might want to try "Phytobaume Hydration Express Conditioner" - it is meant to be used for fine hair so it shouldn't feel heavy, plus it adds density to your hair and also your hair should become easier to detangle
