Questions & Answers for Perricone MD Hypoallergenic Gentle Cleanser

Question
Good for dry, sensitive skin?
I tend to get really dry skin that is sensitive. I have tried the Soy Cleanser, which claims to hydrate but only dried out my face. Do you believe that I will be able to use this cleanser? Also, it is moisturizing for a person who has dry skin?

I have super sensitive, mostly dry skin too. Every person is different but this cleanser works wonders for me. As the first step in my daily cleansing/moisturizing routine, it doesn't irritate and my skin's never felt softer.

I would not recommend this cleanser to anyone with dry skin. I have normal/combination skin and found it very drying.

I have extremely dry/sensitive/reactive skin ,rosacea, and I am sensitive to fragrance in cleansers. I have not had ANY problems with this cleanser irritating my skin. I wouldn't call this cleanser "moisturizing," but it definitely does NOT strip your skin of natural oils. I use the hypoallergenic nourishing moisturizer from Dr. Perricone, and the two work great together.

Question
I used to use the Gentle Cleanser by Perricone MD...is this comparable/essentially the same?
I purchased the gentle cleanser that was sold previously at Sephora by Perricone MD but found out it was no longer being sold and switched to the Citrus Cleanser-I want to know if this is the same thing, just an updated product? Thanks!

I would use the new Hypoallergenic cleanser from Dr. Perricone it is comparable to the gentle cleanser you were using. His new Hypoallergenic cleanser is for sensitive skin.

They are two different cleansers. I use the citrus some times my self the hypo is milder great for the winter. They were most likely out of stock cause it was new and selling really well. I use the whole hypo line and love it.

I think that since Perricone added his "hypoallergenic" line....he calls that one a "hypoallergenic gentle cleanser," so he would then have had 2 different "gentle cleansers." That si proabably why he took away the gentle cleanser you are used to. I have been using his "nutritive cleasner' which is his most basic, most common cleaser, for years...however I find it drying! I don't think the citrus cleanser is the samething as his previous gentle cleanser. There is probably ingredient in the citrus that makes it special. Does it have Vit C? All that maters is tha you liek it I guess. Hae you thought of trying his hypoallergenic gentle cleanser? i want to try it since I have ultra sensitive skin, but I am nervous of brewakign out fromt he oils he puts in it? I belieev we should have those oils naturally in our skin so they shouldnt cause breakouts in theory, but I am nervous to try. You can call the Perricone hot line. Sometimes they are very helpful...other times I have had woemn on that line beg me to buy products over the phone...very salesy and pushy. Other times, I ahve had helpful women answer my questions out of kindness. U can fin the number on any Perricone item...or you can proabably google it. Perricone is a smart guy, adn he seems to do everything for a reason. i doubt that the citrus is the smae as his former gentle cleanser...even if you find it gentle. I think that is just one of his many. He put glycolic acid in most of his products, or some anti-aging product. If the citrus does not have any anti-aging agent at all (it is hard ot know what they all are, as there are many!!) then I would say I am wrong and it took the place fo his gentle cleanser. More likely I think he just made a new one in the green bottle. I hope this helps..sorry so long. i am crazy and obsessed w/ skin care, sorry this is so long!!! I tried to help. Thanks and I hope u find a cleanser u like.

Question
Screwing on the pump?
Okay, I just bought this product and for the last 40 minutes I've been trying to screw on the pump. I even asked my boyfriend for help and he couldn't get it to go on either! Really frustrated! I live pretty far from a store but I'm tempted to make the drive just return it. This is very upsetting. Is this a common issue with Perricone? Am I missing something here? Please help!

I have used many perricone products and I have never had this problem. It sounds like, unfortunately, you may have just gotten a broken pump.

I have been using Perricone for several years now and I almost always have problems with the screw-on pumps. They either don't work at all or stop working soon after you get them on. It would be nice if such an expensvie group of products was more easily accessible!

I would suggest try reversing the twist cap until it rotates over the groove then change direction immediately and it may be malfunction caused by the manufacturer but look at the threading in the pump lid to see of it looks damaged before returning it.
