The coverage is EXTREMELY sheer. I found it to be more sheer than some tinted moisturizers I've used. In all fairness I read recently I was supposed to be applying my KGD foundations in a patting motion, which I haven't tried yet, so maybe I'll get more coverage if I do that. At almost $60 for less than one ounce though I think the best thing to do is apply this sheer and then go back and conceal small imperfections. If you have time to do it that way, it really does make for a beautiful enhancing foundation. Hope this helps!

The coverage is pretty sheer, and seemed dry on my skin, so for your oily skin, it might work. I would call the counter at Barney's or whatever other stores carry it and ask if it works for your skin type.

This mineral powder foundation has to be stippled in so that it gets to every sides of lines and pores. This gives the light reflection that erases the shadows that uneven surfaces have and makes your skin look smooth and soft. If you blend it in like a lotion it has a coverage of a tinted moisturizer.
If you have oily skin then the use of their Colorbases/primers is needed for sure as they have the oil-absorbing powders in it.
The pros sometimes add a tiny pinch of their translucent Face Powder into the Moisture Foundation. This grabs the pigments and gives it a higher coverage if it is needed. This way it can even be used like a concealer which is handy since their Moisture concealer has only the lighter to medium range of shades.

Medium coverage. Not cakey at all. If you are oily, it might be an issue depending on what finish you like. I want dewy skin, so it's perfect for me. It's moisturizing but not heavy/oily at all. I think you should try it at least.

I'd say medium coverage, and it is not at all cakey. It's very smooth and it stays in place well without migrating. I have dry skin, but with an oily T-zone, and this foundation somehow magically keeps my cheeks glowing while minimizing the shine on my nose and forehead.

This foundation is incredibly sheer and it is moisture packed, which means it will probably turn your skin super oily. I have combo skin, and even with a primer I was greasy by afternoon.

I'm a huge foundation junkie and I just received this foundation today and tried it for the first time. I have to say, I am not quite sure what most of the other reviewers are talking about because the coverage was very sheer for me, so they must have perfect skin, haha. However, the coverage was buildable and I managed to get light coverage after to cover up my freckles slightly. The idea that this foundation is so small was also a bit bothersome because I would have to use quite a bit more than usual to get a desired effect. The upside is that this foundation is not cakey AT ALL. I'm still on the fence about this one...

I call a department store and ask the cosmetics dept. to help me by telling them what I'm using, or what I've used that worked color-wise, and ask that they compare that color to another line I am interested in trying.

Just a few weeks I was in your position. Here's what you do, call Sephora and ask to speak with a beauty advisor, they will ask you two or 3 questions and be able to decide from there. They picked a good shade. Other wise you can go to the sephora store in NYC. I don't live in NYC and they don't carry it in california sephoras. :) or barneys

I used same shade as you did, and previously I used Aqua foundation in ochre-1. So this time for Moisture foundation, I choose 112. Assuming if you have light but sort of beige tone I think this should work. I will let you know again once I try them in bright light.

I emailed Koh Gen Do and had them send me samples since the sample package for sale on their website didn't have all the colors I wanted to try. They sent me samples for free.

Question
Foundation shade
I really would like to try this foundation because of the good reviews it has received, but I do not know what shade to try. I have fair skin with pink undertones and am currently using smashbox's camera ready full coverage foundation in fair(f1). Would you be able to help me with a shade since this brand is not sold in my local sephora.

Question
Color IQ: 5Y08 - Which shade of Koh Gen Do Moisture Foundation best matches my skin tone?
I have been matched at my local Sephora store as a 5Y08. I am very interested in purchasing the Koh Gen Do moisture foundation, but cannot find one to try on my skin at any store near me. Which shade would best fit me? There are only 4 types of foundation that Sephora has in stock that perfectly match a 5Y08, but for reference - the Armani Maestro foundation in 4.75 (4Y08) is a good match for my skin.

Thank you.
