Questions & Answers for bareMinerals Redness Remedy

Question
Does it work....?
Can this be used in place of B.E. foundation for coverage. Is it tinted yellow like most anti-redness remedies? Does it minimize acne scars and age spots as well as rosecea? THANK YOU!

No this would not be used for coverage. Yes it reduces redness. It is powder form and it is yellow.

It is not a foundation, it is a redness treatment. You will still need a foundation for coverage but having said that, it is still worth it. I have been using less foundation because my cheeks are becoming less red.

this stuff is hardcore yellow!!! but some how on my olive skin just evens out and covers. it has almost totally replaced bisque for me, and at the same time seems to be correcting and healing. it smells like a powder version of their moisturizers.

I found that I could NOT use Redness Remedy in place of foundation. It is yellow in tone, and was noticeably darker than my "fairly light" skin. It also cakes.

This doesn't replace the BE foundation. I use it under it though to get extra coverage of the redness and it works fantastic! I have also found that it does help with rosacea which I have and it doesn't clog my pores.

I actually use this in the morning and the evening. I have found that I don't need to wear foundation with it. It made my skin tone pretty smooth. However, to work and such, I still wear my foundation and warmth, just because I like the polished, more made up look. If I am just running errands around town, I do not need foundation. However, I don't think the foundation is neccessary after you have used the product for a few days. I am sure everyone's skin is different, though! :)

Yes, it really works. It instantly removes the redness. I guess it is a treatment, not make up. So you can use it at night. Which seems strange to me but it works.

Question
I have very light skin, and it is dry. I have medium auburn hair.
Whenever I use makeup, I have psoriasis, so I use alot. I never know when I will break out. I don't have alot of redness, but I do have it on my cheeks and I don't use blush because of this. Also my upper chest gets red, when I get upset or anxious about things. Will this product be too dark for my skin, also will it cover so I can then use the makeup? Thank you.

No, this will definitely not be effective for your skin type. It wasn't effective on small, spider veins.

I have the redness on my chest too and my mother always seems to point it out like she's never seen it before! But that's another story... You will need to apply a BE foundation over this to add back in a natural color because if too much is used, it does have a yellow tint. However, I love this product for calming the redness on my face and my chest. Good luck.

I would recomend this very highly!! Make sure and PAT it on, don't buff it on until maybe very end of application. i used bisque as a pre cover up, and this has basically replaced it. And i have(or should i say had) very dry, red flakey allergy prone skin around the sides of my nose and cheek area. And after a month of using this stuff, my skin in those areas has become even toned, and moisturized. And best part, if you hate it, sephora will give you your $ back so save reciept! best of luck!!

Im not a professional, but i started using bare minerals because i have sensitive acne prone skin.
if you have sensitive skin, they say to use powder foundations and other products, which so far is working out for me. its not irritating at all, its very soothing. i hope this helps and it works for you :)

Question
How does this compare to Clinique's redness relief powder?
Hi everyone! I'm considering getting this, as it's just in stock, I was just wondering if anyone compared it to Clinique's redness powder and how does it measure up? Thanks!

I was already using the Clinique product when I purchased this, and now I carry that it my purse to use when I need it, as it's more portable. To answer your question, I think this is a bit better: Also, the brush that it comes with is just wonderful-it is so soft that it's soothing by itself.

I actually tried Clinique's Redness Solutions Instant Relief Mineral Powder first and hated it! It felt caky on my skin and left me looking very yellow. I am very fair skin with reddish/brown hair and burn very easily. I love the BE Redness Remedy! It's very light weight. I can wear it with or with out make up. I never feel like I look yellow. This product takes a little more dedication than Clinique. With Clinique I saw drastic results right away. With BE the results were a little more subtle and got better over time. I apply the Redness Remedy after I wash my face at night and before I apply my make up. I feel I get better results this way. I noticed a change after the first application, but it gradually gets better over time.

I found Redness Remedy to have heavier coverage and darker color than the Clinique product. In addition, I had problems with Redness Remedy caking.

Question
At what stage of make up application should this product be applied?
I bought this product about a week ago and apply it after moisturizing and after priming (I use Makeup Forever HD with a green, anti-redness tint) and before my Bare Escentuals foundation powder. It seems to give my skin a yellow tint and my make up is flaking off by the end of the day. Is there another way I should be applying this remedy? I try to dab it on very lightly, until I notice a lightening of the red. I have pale skin (Fair foundation) and very red cheeks, nose, and chin.

I would leave quite a bit of time after moisturizing and priming before applying the redness reducer. Make sure your face is nice and dry and matte. I then apply this and afterwards then apply my foundation. Mine does not flake off during the day. I do however use Urban Decay make up setting spray as well.

I walked into a BE Boutique and asked: Wash your face and apply any serums you might use. Then apply Redness Relief. Then moisturize, prime, and apply makeup. I'd be interested to see if anyone heard differently from a BE rep.

If I am having a flare up, I apply it FIRST, then I apply my BareMinerals Matte Foundation. Sometimes I will even put a bit more on my cheeks after. I have used this alone without foundation and have used it with foundation. I even use it on my left ear, which for some reason gets REALLY red when I am having a flare up!! LOL! NO idea why!!! It has a very nice, lighweight feel and feels cooling when applied. I also use the Clinique Redness Solutions powder too. Both are great.

I don't know about purchasing the brush, but a two ended brush is a poor idea.My other brushes rest with the applicator end up and rest and the handle, this brush has to lay down to avoid damaging one end. I normally love Bare Minerals brushes, this one, not so much.

I don't believe this would cover freckles. It is a powder and goes on light and perfect for dimming redness. For freckles and things darker you would need something in cream form.
