Even at my age, I still break out. Menopause is like adolescence, your skin goes insane. I've found that Clinique's BB Cream doesn't make my skin break out and I don't get the midday greasy's. Because it takes the place of so many products my skin feels better and I can add a zit cream without feeling like I have a million layers of make-up on.

I would not use this overnight. Besides the color getting all over your pillowcase and sheets it has other ingredients that you don't need for nightly wear, like primer and SPF. Its best to use a night cream before bed so you can take advantages of the different types of ingredients that night creams/lotions have to offer.

I personally think wearing anything except minerals at night is BAD. I sleep in this all the time and do not recommend it. I get little white heads everywhere. I need to stop sleeping in it.

You can wear it alone of under foundation. I've done both. It provides fairly adequate coverage on it's own---though not "full coverage" as it says if you have any discolorations. In that case, you might want to use a little foundation over it.

You can if you need a heavier coverage. For daily use I wear it alone. I have used it as a primer, but be careful or you'll look like you troweled it on.

I used a foundation brush. I gave it a slightly airbrushed and lighter look than if I applied with my fingers. I apply my regular foundation with a brush and I get quite a few compliments regarding the look of my skin,

A foundation brush will give you a more even coverage but it is fine to use your cleansed hands as well.

Question
Is this a heavy foundation?
I've been wanting to know if this would be considered a heavy foundation. I was recommended this by a bunch of people but I'm not 100% sure what I think of it. I don't want to be wearing foundation anymore or even a tinted moisturizer because I want more of a my natural skin to show through but with more of a dewy glow to it as well. Along with that I'd like SPF protection for everyday use. Would this be a good product or would something else be better? Thanks again!

This is not a heavy foundation. It does have good coverage (for a BB Cream) but if you are used to a flawfless finish, you will need to complement it with another product.

This is definitely not a heavy foundation. I would classify it as moderate coverage. It has more coverage than a sheer tinted moisturizer but less coverage than a full foundation. I too prefer a natural look and this product gives me a flawless face. It is slightly dewy but not shiny. I use this product exclusively and I love that it is an all in one so I don't have to use a separate primer, spf or foundation. I do use a separate moisturizer underneath (although you don't have to) because I have very dry skin. I love it and highly recommend it! A little goes a long way and it lasts all day. If you're unsure try out a sample before you purchase and make sure you are color matched. Hope this helps! Good luck!

I went to the Clinque counter and recieved a sample. I don't live near a Sephora store so I just order online. The jar they give is small, but with this product you need such a LITTLE amount.

To be honest, am not familure with the Clinique color wheel. I will say that I am very fair and I wear the darkest shade in this. They really need darker colors!!! It is such a good product!

It goes on pretty light at first then blends in, and pretty blendable under powder. Even then you can add in bronzer if it's still not fitting for you. I went in store to sample it on my chin to see the difference because I thought I was in between, and the 02 was really fair, and the 03 was definitely a warmer fair (if that makes sense. If you don't have access to try it on in store I'd say try the 03 (moderately fair to medium with gold undertones). it looks more natural then going too light. good luck!
