The active ingredients are sunscreen, basically. This is a water-based product. Includes barely extract, wheat germ extract, caffeine, sucrose... It is paraben-free, which is wonderful. There are a handful of other ingredients that are probably not easility identifiable by the ordinary consumer, but they are preservatives and stabilizers necessary to make this product perform the way WE, the consumer, need. It's a good product, definitely worth a try. If you want to read the entire list of ingredients, just pop by a Sephora and read the lable :)

What is a BB cream and how does this differ from Clinique's City Block line which has non chemical sunscreen and they have been advertising it as an under make up primer before primers were even a household name? Do you apply it, and/or the City Block, over moisturizer or instead of it?

From what I read it is Beauty Balm, it works like a primer, sunscreen and concealer. I found it gave me good coverage for everyday wear but when I go out I will definitely use my foundation. My skin tends to be T-zone oily and I just used some toner before I used this and did not need moisturizer.

I bought this as an anti-aging, perfecting tinted moisturizer. I am a 50 year old white woman with dry/normal skin. When I opened the box and read that it was formulated for Asian skin I packed it back up to return. Should I return it because it is not made for MY skin?

No no no! :-) BB creams originated in Asia, but they are for all skin types! I am Caucasian and I use this cream and I love it! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

No, Parabens usually have "-paraben" at the end of the name in the ingredients list, and I don't see any on the list.

I have fair skin with peachy undertones and the shade 02 was plenty light on me. If you use Fresh Honey, you may want to wait until they come out with a slighty darker tone to avoid chalky looking skin.

My skin is as fair as it comes and I am Caucasian. I have blue undertones and it works very well for me. The reason that it says "formulated for Asian skins" is because that was the original market for which it was created. There is a lot of consumer feedback supporting that it is great for naturally oily complexions. Also keep in mind the climate of many parts of Asia, which tends to be humid (with the exception of some of the more mountainous ranges) and warm in the more inhabited areas, so this product is intended to adjust in tone and also have lasting power in different environments.

I live in one such humid tropical place, and I never had the temptation to blot my skin. It really is good stuff.

How does the coverage compare to the Moisture Surge foundation? I like the lighter, more natural coverage of the MS, but I feel like it can get a little too shiny at times.

I was a devoted Almost Foundation user. When they discontinued it, I tried the replacement, Moisture Surge. Personally, I felt it was an inadequate replacement. Although it is very hydrating which my dry skin needs, the finish was too shiny. This BB cream is my new holy grail product! It has a natural dewy finish, moderate coverage, and lasts all day. I no longer use a separate primer, spf, or foundation.

I have both and prefer the BB cream. This MS is good but I end up feeling greasy in the T zone. The BB cream gives me a light coverage that is almost invisible to the naked eye. One day while wearing just the BB cream and a little mascara, a male friend ask me why I wear make-up when I look so good without it. Trust me, my naked skin is blotchy, and I have a few acne scars, so the BB won over the MS, which I had worn up till then. I hope this helps. Remember, if you don't like it, Sephora will take it back.

You might want to add your favorite moisturizer under it. I know that moisture surge works well underneath, and so does turnaround lotion.

I think this is the best choice for dry skin. BB cream is made to be more hydrating than other foundations. This is the only product I haven't had any problems with. Powders and liquid foundations flake around my mouth and accentuate dry patches. Ever since I switched to this my skin looks dewy and perfect. I swear by it!
