Questions & Answers for First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Lip Therapy

Question
Taste/Flavor
What kind of taste does this lip balm have? I've tried a lot and know for a fact that not all are created equal in the taste department. And most of those that taste the worst are the more expensive ones. And no, I'm not talking about the fabulous Fresh brand by any means.

It doesn't really have any taste. It is slightly minty, but not overwhelming like Burt's Bees, for example.

Thank you all for your answers. I've purchased this and have been using it for about a month now. I've found that the scent, taste and price are all superb for the astounding results I've seen. I'm very impressed with this line of products. Very gentle, yet effective.

The product has a very slight sweet minty scent. But when you taste it, it's just a little minty, not sweet at all.

I use this lip balm regularly and have come to think of it as 'medicinal-mint', the sort of flavor that could make even the most useless placebo seem somehow helpful and good-for-you. Which is not to suggest that it is a placebo by any means, only that it taste/feels so very.......virtuous on application. But I have been buying---and using--it regularly for several years and find it not only effective--and in the desert no less--but a bargain.
Hope this helps,

It has a very slightly sweet minty taste. The smell is also light mint and quite pleasant. Currently my favourite healing/soothing/general lip balm.

No, it does not! That's one of the many great things about this lip balm. Beeswaxs based lip balms are very irritating for most people.

Question
What's the difference between the purple and blue tube?
Both have the same writing, they are the same size, yet the purple is $6 and the blue is $12. Is there a difference in flavor? All i see, is that the purple tube says "original". What's the difference?

Can't say for sure if there IS in fact a difference. I have the purple tube at the moment. The blue one is the new formula I think if the price is any indication. I would say try the purple one first, since it's $6.00. Personally, it's a bit clumpyish than I'm used to when using a lip balm, meaning you have to wipe off the top of the tube after every use, but it does seem to work.

Question
Is this product gluten free?
I see oat flour in the ingredients list. Although oats are not a direct irritant for celiac disease, I'm wondering if anyone can verify if they are certified gluten-free oats?

Question
What is the texture like?
I recently bought the First Aid Beauty Cheers to Fab Skin gift set in store, which included this product. When I opened it, there was no seal on the lip treatment although the "sealed for your protection" sticker was on the tube. When I squeezed the product out, I immediately noticed a very gritty texture, that sort of disappears as you work it onto the lips. I haven't noticed any reviews mentioning this, so I'm curious if that's supposed to happen with this product (and that I didn't get one that was tampered with)

Mine is very thick, but not gritty at all. I can't think of a reason for a lip balm to be gritty, unless it exfoliates, but I don't think this ones claims to do so.

it may have separated a bit. Here is what I would try: Squeeze as much air out of the tube as you can, replace the lid, and then squeeze/knead the product inside the tube. Every now and then I get a bit of oil that separates so I do this to re-mix it inside the tube. Don't give up! This is one of the absolute best products I have ever used on my lips...I love it so much! I hope this helps!

Question
the tube I have is marked "original" and it is light purple. This tube is light blue, is this a different flavor?
I was in a Sephora store today because I ran out of this product and wanted to buy another tube but only found a light blue tube and they could not explain the difference, aslo saw other products that are pink, so there is a theme going here according to colors. Can I possibly buy the original light purple tube?
