It doesn't! Mine looked golden in the case but turned all over blue on my eyelid. I couldn't get the gold tone to stay or show up. Wahhhh!

gently tap the color on full eye. Buff the color where you desire the gold to change to blue.

answer 3
It doesn't. It's just blue eye shadow. You can't make any of it stay gold.

answer 4
You have to lightly pat it on with the brush without rubbing to keep the gold color. Once you rub the shadow it turns into the blue.

I would ask a Sephora employee to put it on for you and show you. IF they can get it to work I would love to know their secret cause following the directions in the kit DO NOT WORK. You get a silvery blue color at best, not gold.

You really do need to pat it on, and use a good primer, to try to keep the gold color as long as possible. For me, the heat of my body produced the same effect as buffing; after all, buffing is friction, friction is heat, I went to 1970s blue shadow about an hour into a party which was somewhat awkward. Just remember, don't sweep it on; pat it on. It takes some practice!

You have to VERY gingerly almost blot it on (another review also pointed out that when you do this, it gets everywhere, so do it first!)...I did not use the brush it came with because it always turned blue. I used my fingertip to do it, and once it was almost completely coated in the color, then I could blot it onto my lid without it immediately changing to blue. GOOD LUCK! (p.s. the blue is amazing, though, so even though the shift isn't right, the color is AWESOME)

It's the same concept as gum with flavor crystals. When you chew the gum, the flavor crystals burst. Or a face masks with little beads in it that burst and blend as you rub it in. You can tell by looking at the shadow that it's different from other BE shadows. It's not as finely milled. It's thicker and bulkier, because it's surrounded by another. It's super weird/super awesome.

answer 9
It appears to be bright blue pigmented minerals enrobed in gold pigmented minerals. When they are disturbed enough, the particles break apart and the bright blue is such a strong color that it overtakes the gold. Not hard to break them apart though--actually it was difficult to keep them intact enough to appear gold on the parts I wanted gold. Fun idea!

You are supposed to be able to sweep the eyeshadow across the lid in gold and then buff the corners to change it to blue, but it doesn't work. I ordered the collection and no matter what I did or what brush I used I couldn't get the gold color. It changes to blue the minute you brush it on.

answer 11
You just apply the lid color with the larger end of the included brush...pat it on very gently and it will go on as a gold shade. Then, take the other side of the brush and rub the crease back and forth. It will turn a vibrant blue in your eye crease. Cool effect!

I'm concluding that it's not sold separately at the time because it is a star product in a value kit, meaning it probably won't be sold separately until it's been given good feedback and received good ratings. Though it could be available soon or already available in your area, I'm not positive.

No I have tried both at Sephora and a BE boutique to purchase the individual shadow. A woman at the BE boutique told me that this was exclusive to Sephora and had to be purchased as a kit. It is definitely worth it for all the extras though. Hope this helped!

I could not find just the eyeshadow, so I bought the kit. But it does not work the way it says it will. Even just lightly patting on the shadow, it turns blue right away. The aqua is a beautiful color, and I will use it for the corners of my eyes after putting on a different gold eyeshadow. If you like the aqua, get this...if you are looking for it to be gold that buffs to aqua, then forget it.
