Questions & Answers for LORAC Ooh La Lace Baked Shimmer & Matte Eye Shadow Palette

Question
Pigment/darkness
These colors look extremely pigmented. How do they look on. Do you have to apply lightly. I do not want to look like a clown.

They go on very smooth, just like any other eye shadow but I just use very little of the darker colors so I don't look like a clown either! I also always use an eye shadow primer which really helps the shadow stick to my lids where I want it to be.

Hi,

You can build the pigment with these eyeshadows. If you want it to be sheer, apply less for the product.

The white is surprisingly sheer and is made up of mostly shimmer. The gray comes out as a fairly dark gray, a couple shades darker than it appears in the palette. The black is VERY TRUE and VERY DARK. If you are afraid of highly pigmented shadows, avoid the black. The peach color under the white is also mostly shimmer, there's not actually a lot of peach pigmentation to it. The gold comes out as more of a dark gold...it almost looks like a light brown. The brown, like the black, is very true and quite dark, but it's a lot less threatening than the black. To apply more of a sheer wash of color instead of a dense application, use a very fluffy eyeshadow brush and don't press very hard. You can leave it like that, or go over it again if you find it's too light.

You do have to use a lighter hand with these shadows because they are so soft, a lot will get on your brush if you press too hard. If you use a light touch, you will definitely NOT look like this <@:o)

You can use them wet or dry, but keep in mind the white and the peach are mostly shimmer not pigmentation so you'll get a more shimmery color not a brighter color. In my opinion the matte black and the matte brown are pigmented enough on their own that using them wet isn't needed, but whatever suits you.

Since they are baked, they can be used wet or dry. They are quite pigmented, so I wouldn't wear them wet. It would just be too much color.

Hey!

Although I have not yet used these eyeshadows wet, the packaging itself does state that the shadows can be used wet or dry.

Hope that helps.

I would estimate slightly larger than a quarter each and they are convex shaped (they don't sit flat but actually pop out from the packaging). Plenty of product.

answer 2
Shadows are slightly larger than a quarter and raised on top, so should last a long time.

Palette is slightly less than 4 3/4 x 3 3/4 x 3/4 thick.

The Wet n Wild Palette "Dancing in the Clouds" Has a dupe for stunner and the Palette "Comfort Zone has a Dupe for Knockout." Not only are they similar in color, they are similar in feel and finish as well. HTH

You can use the black and probably the dark brown shades as an eyeliner. I've used the black as a liner before. It's not nearly as dark as a pencil, liquid liner etc, but it's a nice touch.

the eyeshadows are HUGE. i got this info for myself the other day actually from lorac's website; the total weight is given: 0.34oz. the average eyeshadow (say, from urban decay) is 0.05oz. so, given that there are six of these, let's round up to 0.35oz, that means each is nearly 0.07oz. it really does make a difference. i find that since these are baked, the formula is still soft without getting all over the place and i waste less. for comparison, i own the lorac pro, and those shadows are sooo incredibly awesome but soft so i have to be careful because poking one will bust it apart. the baked formula in the ooh la lace palette prevents that since it is just as creamy a texture but is held together better since it was baked.
