How do you apply this?
I feel like I'm missing something! Do I apply this like a regular lip liner? Do I apply it around the outer edge of my lips? All over my lips?? Help!

Around the edge of your lips and you can also use it under your lipstick.

You use it around the edges of your lips - as in, you don't put it so it's on the color of where your lips are defined from the skin of your face. Your put it around where you will apply your lip color to your mouth. It's invisible on, so no worries of it showing.

Apply just like you would a regular lip liner...then apply a colored lip liner over the top (optional) and apply lipstick. Works great!

You use this white, invisible pencil on the outside of your lip line. It really holds the gloss or lipstick in place.

To seal in lip color where it won't move outside your lip lines, use this pencil to line the outside of your lips. Then you can apply lip color and it will stay "sealed."

I apply it on the outside of my lip line and then apply my colored lip pencil to my lips. It doesn't show so you don't have to worry about messing up.

I was told to use any sharpener I had and I used my makeup sharpener but the pencil keeps breaking off. Could be I just need to buy a new sharpener since I have had it for a very long time. The pencil sure does work great though.

Use a regular cosmetic sharpener. I use the same sharpener I use for all pencils this size.

Yes, it does need the sharpener. I have the double sided one from Sephora and it is great for all lip or eye pencils.

be careful about sharpening, it will break off easy wasting your product, I went and bought a sephora sharpener and it worked without breaking off.

Can you sharpen this product?
I have a eyeliner I believe with the same design, it looks like hard plastic but I wondering can you sharpen it. I would be pretty upset if I spent all that money and all I get is what's available at the tip of the liner. Just wondering

i use a sephora brand pencil sharpener. there is a little waste but not much, i dpnt sharen the pencil to a perfect point, just enough to expose the pruduct to minimize the waste.

I've been using my $3 eye pencil sharpener and it works, just go easy because the tip is soft.

I can use a regular sharpener for the lip line protector. I have learned recently to always ask the lady at the counter if i need a special sharpener or not. Ruined a $18 stick of eye liner from Urban Decay because it requires a special sharpener.

You do have to use a makeup pencil sharpener for this. I bought an NYX dual sharpener not to long ago that is very sharp and it works great for this Lip Line Perfector.

The liner has to be sharpened. I tried an eyeliner/eyebrow pencil sharpener I had and the liner was uneven and dull. I went and bought the Makeup For Ever Double end pencil sharpener and it works GREAT!

Paraben free?
I'm highly allergic to parabens (among other things) and as far as I can tell the ingredients look clean, but I'm so wary of anything that doesn't say "paraben free" so I wondered if anyone could elaborate?
