I agree, the color punch drunk is a bright, creamy orange shade!

It is an intense straight-up orange. I usually loo good in an orange-red and I thought that was what this was, but it is a little too orange for my olive-tinted skin.

This is definitely on the orange side. But not over the top, its a very pretty and wearable shade!

This is a very intense orange, not very coral like. If you're looking for an orange color, this is definitely it! But if you're looking for a coral undertone, I wouldn't suggest this. It's beautiful though!

I wouldn't call it a true orange or even a coral... It is actually practically a very warm red with no blue undertones, or a red-orange.

If you go on wiki for the shades of orange page the color of the lip pencil most represents a mix between International Orange and Orange-Red, but I think it also varies based on your natural lip color as well

I have this pencil in Naked so obviously it's not going to deliver as much color as some of the other shades. It stays on great for me and I love that it's not all over my cup at work. That grosses me out. But it's nothing like a stain, I wear mine mostly at work and I usually don't have to reapply until after lunch and maybe once more before I leave.

It does have great staying powder and if you want it to have more of a stain finish, blot your lips with a tissue.

Haven't had to sharpen mine yet but I don't see it being a problem. It's not goopy or melty. I'm told you're supposed to put chubby lip pencils in the freezer for a few minutes and they sharpen better.

The pencil is really soft and easy to sharpen, I suggest using the Urban Decay Grind House Sharpener.

I use a NARS brand pencil sharpener and have had no problems. The pencil sharpens fine.

They sharpen as well as any other fat lip pencil.

I have had no issues sharpening them with my UD Grind House sharpener, however, as they are lip pencils, you don't have to worry about them being pencil sharp, as they will round right down again after one use. I've found in the limited time I've had mine 5-6 uses in between sharpening is my average.

I suggest like all cream-based pencils to store in fridge overnight and then sharpen in the morning with a clean sharpener. Works as a charm and you don't lose too much product :)

You can sharpen it. There is plenty of product and it's not goopy. It doesn't taste like like pencil shavings like the Benefit pencil either. I bought the Grindhouse sharpener because I needed a new one anyway and it fits regular and chubby sized pencils. It's all metal and I liked that it has a lid that collects the shavings. Sorry to sound like a sales person!

You do have to have the Grind House sharpener by Urban Decay. It's about $10 and is worth the investment if you really like this lip color pencil!

I use a pencil sharpener that will sharpen chubby pencils. You can get one at Sephora that has two holes,one for slimmer pencils and one for the chubby.I assume the pencil goes down to the black part of the pencil.

You will need a pencil sharpener that's wide enough for a fat pencil. I like UD's Grind House sharpener. Zero mess and it never breaks pencils during the sharpening process.

Any cosmetic sharpener with the larger hole will work on this product.

It doesn't have sharpener with it or on it. So you will have to buy sharpener separately. Although, pretty much any sharpener for chubby pencils will work - I have Stila and Sephora, they both work.

I too have skin that gets quite tan in the summer and the dreaded yellow, faded tan in the winter. I was surprised how good F-Bomb looked on me. It is a great neutral red. Adrenaline looked great on me too--but it is so glittery it is for night, dancing, a party or if you just like to have a little extra pop of color on your lips. Orange-reds usually look good on me too, but Punch Drunk was too straight up orange and made me look a little too yellow. Hope this helps.

i have olive skin tone and i just started defining my lips a bright red (fbomb) and i love! You have to wear lots of black and white clothing to bring out the color, but also have a good judgement what outfits you wear will match the red lips

I like Lovechild the most right now because it really is subtle but beautiful. I wear Crush and FBomb around the house, mostly because I'm still a bit self-conscious but I think they look great. I am totally the same way (skin tone wise), and I still like to use brighter colors in the winter. I was super self conscious at first, but now I'm loving them. Just try one in store, walk around wearing it, and if you like it, buy it! Good luck!

A lot of people get nervous about trying lip color, escpecially if they are of brighter hues. From what you described your features as, i feel like you have to reason to be self concious, it just takes some getting used to. I would recomend wearing crush, its a bright pink and mostly works with everyones skintones (i have the same skin as you, and I wear this color all the time) plus your teeth will look super white!

If you feel self-conscious, this color may be too bright for you initially, but it will look great on you. It is such a nice lipstick, I definitely think it is worth it to try it.

URBAN DECAY REALLY BIG LIPSTICK any color in the pallet looks good on everyone. Forget about your hair, skin, and eye color. If you wear make-up that's right for you, absolutely any of the colors will be GORGEOUS!
You may have a color you think looks better so go with that. BUT YOU ASKED SO WHY NOT WALK ON THE WILD SIDE! TRY any one of these colors for a change and WOW!

i have red/brown hair with golden hilights, hazel/brown eyes, fair skin. i looove f-bomb!

I have naturally reddish hair-like a light auburn (currently dyed brown) and green eyes, but with a more yellowy undertone to my skin. I LOVE F'Bomb and found it very wearable. Give it a try-you can always return it if it doesn't look right on you.

Yes I would highly recommend this to you, only get it in a lighter color.

I'm in my 50's. The color was a red that not only did not complement my skin but also made me look older, even dated. As you age we need to be very discriminating and try different shades and honestly ask ourselves if a color makes us look fresh and contemporary or older than we actually are.

My mom purchased this pencil in F-Bomb (the red) and she's 48. She uses it sparingly, like a stain. She doesn't put it on as saturated as the product will allow, she dots it on and quickly rubs her lips around and get the color deposited and then she adds a gloss to the top throughout the day. A matte gloss, like Rosebud salve. It looks nice on her :) All of the pinks are sparkly except Crush, which is a very hot pink. You can do the same effect with it as well. For a little pink color.

I'm not in your age bracket (almost 30), but have older sisters. Based on how much I share when I find new makeup...here are my thoughts.

This item is very moisurizing. If you want to minimize any aging effects, using a good lip plumper, then this item, would do the trick.

You don't need a lip liner with this item because it's sort of a lip liner built in by way in which you apply it (as a pencil).

If you love creamy lipsticks right now, with stronger pigments, you aren't going out of your familiar zone at all, the texture is very nice.

The only hesitation you may have is with the vibrancy of the colors themselves. I myself bought Fbomb, the bright red, as I adore reds. The other colors seem to be an array of bright pinks with sparkles, which I would guess might not be your thing? (Pardon me if I'm wrong!!)

I would however suggest Urban Decay's lipsticks very very highly, particularly the nude colors like naked or jailbait, for everyday colors for work, etc (my reason for purchasing). Their red lipstick in Revolution is also a very bright, lovely red.

If you're still looking for a pencil gloss or lipstick, also check out NARS matte lip pencil lipstick. I own Dolce Vita, which is an amazing dusty rose and very flattering and much longer lasting (doesn't wipe off as easily as this item does).

For coloring reference, I have palest of pale skin, brown eyes, and dark red hair.

Oh and for a plumper, try Too Faced's or DuWop Lip Venom (the second being my favorite), also both available here. Lip Venom is a miracle working at filling in lines and puffing up lips, even though it's tingly, it's a rather nice tingle once you're familiar with it.

I am 45 and bought one of these pencils in Adrenaline. I do not recommend them for our age group because there is too much glitter inthe pencil and the colors are VERY bright. I found it to be drying and the glitter eneded up all around my mouth area. If you can find one without the glitter, you might try it at the store before buying. I hope this helps.

This is not a mechanical pencil and it doesn't turn. Mine hasn't melted (too cold here right now!) but it looks like it would be fine if you sharpened it. You can always just take it to Sephora and ask them what to do.
