I would take it back to a Sephora Store and have one of the consultants try it with you. If it is a 'dud' they will exchange it for you. I just love their return policy and I now buy all my make-up and hair/beauty products there.

I'm having the same problem & thought the same thing as you!
However, after looking at the reviews it seems that several people have experienced the same problems and are pretty unhappy with the strength of the color/dragging, etc.
It doesn't seem like it's a user error, I think the product is just not what we were expecting so we're out of luck, but I'm still going to ask a MUA at Sephora if they have any tips - I recommend all of us experiencing these similar problems do the same!

I had the same problem. I returned the first one thinking mine was dried-up or something. But the new one was just the same.
