Questions & Answers for Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Trifix™ Oil-Free Hydrating Moisturizer

Question
Suitable for dry, acne-prone skin?
I have been breaking out a lot lately in my mid-20s (and I never got acne this bad even as a teenager) but my skin is also combination - oilyish in the t-zone and dry everywhere else (especially in the winter). My doctor put me on benzol peroxide and this has made the dryness unbearable. Would this product be sensitive enough to not irritate the acne (around my mouth) but moisturizing enough to combat the dryness? These are my main concerns; alleviating redness would be a plus.

I had the same issue! My recent adult breakouts have been terrible and my term gave me prescriptions ointments to use and spot treat but they dry me out. This is a great moisturizer, I have been using it for 2 weeks daily and so far so good, my dryness and peeling has gone and it doesn't make me oily or cause breakouts.

I have oily skin with dry/flaky spots around my mouth and eyes(from RETIN-A and BENZOYL) and this moisturizer has helped balance my oily skin and clear my blackheads(this was not my motive to buy this product, it was more like a bonus). I will admit though, benzoyl is too strong on my skin to let this moisturizer fix the dryness, but TRIFIX has not broken me out, so I will continue to use. Hope this helps.

Aging
Does this moisturizer have any anti aging benefits? I am 43 and still have frequent breakouts but would love to incorporate anti-aging as well. I love all of the products in this line, as far as self tanners g,o and thought I might try this.

From my two month experience with this product (limited), I haven't noticed any anti-aging benefits. While I'm only 30, I'm starting to see fine lines and wrinkles and was hoping it would help tighten things up, but so far I'm not seeing those results. I do love it for not causing me to break out -- the first I've come across that actually moisturizes!

Question
Does this product contain sulfur?
Sulfur is not listed as an active ingredient, but the Trifix lotion does contain it. It is good for the skin, but turns jewelry black and so I'd rather avoid it if possible.

Question
Will this react poorly with Josie Maran Argan Oil Light?
I have crazy skin. It's combination to the extreme, acne prone, aging, and sensitive with rosacea. I find the only cleanser to work well for me is Josie Maran's Argan Oil cleanser, and the JM Argan Oil Light does a good job balancing my skin's moisture levels. Alas, while the oils do get rid of dry patches from acne drying up and limit oiliness in t-zone, I need to address my acne and rosacea flair ups. Would this work with the oils? If it may react poorly, any other suggestions? I'm desperate. Thanks!

I have the same skin problems as you. This moisturizer really helped with my dry patches and breakouts, and I even have less redness all over than I used to. I'd been using Boscia's Tsubaki Oil because the argan oil products break me out, but I'm so much happier with this moisturizer!

It really worked for me. No more dry patches, fewer breakouts, my oils are more balanced out, and my skin looks more calm overall. I've tried so many different moisturizers and hated them all. I wish I'd found this sooner!
