The colors are not sparkly. They do not highlight any wrinkles. You may also want to apply a lid primer to achieve even better result.

I love it. I too am an older women and has had lots of problems with eye shadows. This product works well, love the colors, and does not crease in the middle like many others have in the past.

I'm 40 and it is perfect for me... no wrinkles to show... I did use the Laura Mercier primer and I think that helped too.

nope, 5 of the 6 colors are shimmery. the universal beige is the only matte shade. i think the key to keeping eyeshadow on your lids without creasing or settling into the lines would be a good shadow primer. for myself, i've found the Benefit Stay Dont Stray or Lemon Aid, and Too Faced Shadow Insurance work the best.

No, the colors are not matte but rather shimmery. The shimmers are fine and not very grainy, but I don't know how they would settle into creases and fine lines. Perhaps using an eye primer and eye shadow base to start would be a good idea if you're trying this out. Good luck!

The Natural look's base shadow "Universal Beige" and the Smokey eye look's crease shadow "Midnight Kiss" are matte , but the rest are metallic.
The shadow goes on really smoothly with both brush and sponge applications. So I don't think you'll have to worry too much about it gathering in creases. As an extra precaution though, I'd suggest an eyeshadow primer. Urban Decay is my favorite. They also have good makeup setting sprays that can help.
