Questions & Answers for REN Resurfacing AHA Concentrate

I use other brands with this and it still makes my skin look amazing and glow. I use origins and ole henriksen products with this concentrate and my skin still looks amazing. Sometimes products are made to work together but that doesn't make them less effective with products in a different line. It may however work faster clearing up post acne marks or getting rid of fine lines if you used other REN products with this.

This is the only REN product I use only because I have other stuff I need to use up. I'm sure it would work better with other products from the same line. You can always request for samples and try before you buy.

Totally. This is the only REN product I use, and my skin looks great because of it. Part of the reason I bought was because it is suppossed to aid in the efficacy of your other products, whatever they may be.

I specifically spoke with one of the reps, who said it would be OK for me to keep using my favorite Burt's Bees natural cleanser, with this product and the Ren glyco peel. This is my winning team.

You can mix and match with other brands. To be on the safe side check what the active ingredients are in your other products.

I believe it is always best to use most products from the same brand to achieve optimal results. This product can be used alone. However for the absolute best results use with the Micro Polish Cleanser, the Glyco Lactic Mask and the Radiance Perfecting Serum. Do not use the concentrate daily. Use it for 7 days on and 14 days off so you give your cells a chance to renew, (the whole point of exfoliating.) AMAZING when followed with the Radiance Perfecting Serum.. . . and you get use the Radiance Perfecting Serum every morning as well as night to balance, hydrate & nourish after deep exfoliation! Can I just say AMAZING again? Truly incredible!!!

It has worked wonderfully for my teen daughter's acne. The AHAs in it do wonders to help the skin stay clear. Just watch your other products - you don't want to overdo acids and end up with irritation. Also, be cautious of sun exposure but that is a double edged sword as some sunscreens can flare acne. Hope this helps.

No. It definitely doesn't because that was what i originally purchased it for. My acne nor acne scars hasn't changed a bit and I haven't noticed any "skin renewal". I was very dissapointed. Patricia Wexler antiaging acne serum works great. I wanted something stronger that is why I tried this, it's like childs play compared to that.

Question
How long does it last?
I read the instructions and it said use one pipette. Since the bottle is sorta small I'm just wondering how fast it would be used up. I really want to try it, because I love the REN line, but I'm used to the pump bottles and I don't want to spend so much on something I'll blow through in a month or less

I think it will last quite a while! You won't need an entire pipette to cover your face.

Actually, this product is not designed to be used nightly. You're only using it for 7 nights on, then 14 nights off. The 7 nights on is kickstarting your skin's cellular renewal cycle with the powerful exfoliation, and the 14 nights off gives allows the new skin cells to surface....so when you're only using it that amount....the product should last you quite a while!

I would say one "pipette" is equal to one full pump of a standard pump bottle. Given the size of the bottle, I expect mine to last about 2-3 months.

Yes, this product, as most of REN products, are definitely safe for sensitive skin. That being said however, if your skin is generally reactive to glycolic solutions, be advised that this contains a 10% glycolic solution, which can cause irritation to extrememly sensitive skin just like any powerful exfoliation would. Also, this product is designed to be used 7 nights on, 14 nights off.....so you shouldn't over-do it. Hope this helps!

Question
How should I fit this product into my nightly routine?
So I currently use Philosophy help me as my night treatment and then Ren frankincense revitalizing night cream over that. Would this product take the place of the help me or would it go underneath that? Should I be worried about using this product and then putting a retinol on top, would that be harsh on my skin?

The concentrate will deactivate your retinol product. However if you use the peel as directed (wash off product) you can certainly decongest your pores. You can also try the REN detox mask.

I would say it would take the place of the Philosophy Help Me, otherwise it sounds like too many products. The REN exfoliates. You shouldn't need two. Check the ingredients in both to make an informed decision. Also it depends on your skin type. Good luck.

Will it be too harsh to use while using their glycolic peel? does this replace the weekly exfoliation routine? if so which would work best for combination and congested skin? thank you.

Yes i would say using those two at the same time would be too harsh. Your supposed to use the concentrate 7 days on 14 days off. If you stick to this routine and you wanted to use a peel also i would recommend using it when your off the concentrate during that 14 day period. That way your not over drying your skin and it kinda gives your skin a little pick me up during your break off the concentrate. This does exfoliate the skin but every now and then i use a scrub to really get deep into my pores. And as far as using this for congested skin i love this cause it doesn't cause me to break out and it felt like it kind of helped to prevent new acne from forming. Also remember glycolic acid makes your skin sensitive to sun so always wear sunscreen during the day. Good luck!

answer 2
Be careful when combining the REN aha concentrate serum and the glycolic peel together. Glycolic acid is a powerful agent that if overused will dry out the face. It is the body's normal reaction to produce sweat to hydrate the face if the face is dried out. It will then most likely cause for a person to break out even more.

I would start the REN gradually, but it is very gentle.

It sounds like you are using A LOT of exfoliating products.
I think you'd be happier using the Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask.
Years ago, when my skin was breaking out, I was using Pro Active and it tore up my face., The Glycol Lactic mask and the Clear Calm 3 Acne Treatment Mask worked miracles on my skin. And they both help to clear the skin of post acne scars too! I consistently use the Glyclol Lactic Mask and then the Clear Calm 3 mask in the same night and my skin loves it.

Can I use this in conjunction with my Clarisonic?

Go ahead and use it with your clarisonic. Your clarisonic helps your skin care products absorb better into your skin so they work better for you. I always use my clarisonic even with the concentrate and i use the ren glycolic peel about once every couple weeks.

Yes, I use my Clarisonic every morning and if I'm not too lazy to bring it into the shower with me at night, I use it then too. If you have sensitive or acne prone skin, I recommend using the brushes made for your type of skin because this REN product will make you somewhat sensitive if you're scrubbing your skin raw. I do find my Clarisonic makes my products absorb better, and you'll see and feel the results with this REN AHA concentrate. I only use very little and especially right after my skin is still hydrated and supple.

I actually used it for 7 nights straight, then when it was time to come off of it for 2 weeks I didn't. I used it every other night (might miss one or two here or there) and it does not irritate my skin at all. If anything, it seems to keep my skin clearer, brighter, and is really helping fade old scars and a few dark spots. I usually do half a peptide, since a full one seems like too much product for me.

When I first bought this I used it for about a month straight, then forgot about it, then another month straight, etc. I didn't carefully read the directions for a while. I'm nearly done a full bottle (after a year) and have used it the past 2 weeks, everyday in a row. My skin feels fine, but I won't pick it up for another month now. I have oily skin, and I wouldn't say it's very sensitive so you may have a different experience with it.

I wouldn't if i were you for the simple fact that there are a lot of harsh ingredients that help to exfoliate your skin and too much exfoliation to the skin is bad for you and can cause oilness and break outs. Not to mention this has glycolic acid in it which makes your skin sensitive to sun. the recommended usage is on the bottle for a reason. I just use a peel once a week on the off weeks im not using this to give my skin a pick me up. Hope that helps. Good luck
